Maybe Topps is moving Pardee up to try and make everyone forget about yesterday. Lots of talk about his Acuna. I know lots of people are looking forward to it. Either that, or Don C was scheduled to release and he never submitted his card.

If Blake is doing Acuna on the 15th, I hope it's to keep about 2 weeks between Acuna drops. Nobody wants a repeat of the back-to-back Griffeys from the beginning of the set.

I'll probably get it, but more because Seaver is very hard for me to resist. If anything, the history of the photo makes it clearer that the card is a tribute to Seaver's crossovers into art and advertising and pop culture in the '70s. I'd prefer to have some way of interpreting the card, instead of it just being a crazy flashback to a bad trip.

There is another artist who also has said that Acuna is coming up for them. I sure hope this doesn't turn into Acuna overkill this early in the set. One thing about Distortedd Shin, her player list may not be to everyone's liking on this board, but it is definitely going to be unique and she could have some unique players with her Dominican theme.

I'd agree that it's probably better to spread the releases apart for variety, but I'd be more tolerant for back-to-back for Acuna (and Soto, Tatis, etc.) since they didn't already have twenty artist Project renditions.

I guarantee you that by the end of this set you will have seen more than enough reimaginations of Tatis, Acuna & Soto (in that order). In fact I'm going to bet you see at least 20 of each.

You might not have liked the art yesterday but how many of us were clamoring for more Tom Seavers in this set before it even launched? I'm stoked we've seen Mike Schmidt & Tom Seaver and we're on card 33. It means that while we're going to get slammed with new talent, there's still cards for me to buy.

I mean there's countless HoFers and fan favorites to hit and yet how sure are we that all three Acuna, Tatis, Soto or even Bellinger are HoF?

Disappointed we haven't seen a Negro Leagues player. Makes me afraid that this set isn't allowing them. I mean, Topps at least has the rights to 25 or so players and likenesses on their site. I know they've been mentioned before but Buck Leonard and Josh Gibson? Sign me up.

Also we are 3.23% done with this set.

I will buy every Negro league and Eddie Murray card that is released. My personal over/under for those was 5 before the set began. I figured a couple of Murrays and at least 1 or 2 Satchel Paige and Josh Gibson cards. Now I'm not so sure.

The fact that not a single artist has addressed the question about whether Negro League players are even allowed makes me think that they may not be. Seems to be more and more issues with players being allowed. Even Bo Jackson has issues apparently.

Well, I would love that but I would also like to point out that having Mike Trout in P2020 didn't prevent them from having Mike Trout in P70.

There are a lot of people that read this. What their combined purchasing power is would be anyone's guess. But if it turned out that 500 or so cards from any given print run were purchased by contributors or frequent visitors of the boards, I wouldn't be surprised. That's 10-25% of sales. Not small

I'm asking the swing in purchasing power this board pulls, btw, so like did people who were for sure going to buy combined 500 of the Seaver pull up this thread and go "yah, nah" and not buy it?

I mean ... maybe Wheeler did? lol idk, but that seems a bit of a stretch in my opinion. Heck, I don't even have time to read every post. The fact that we revisit the getty images topic every month proves few people do.

You did not convince me to not buy the Seaver. Full disclosure, I haven't bought it yet but it's because I don't know if I want to buy just the card or the whole artist series from wheeler yet ...
