With the declared value bump up to $499, looks like the value service level will be taking on more of what use to be economy orders. I don't see the economy service tier coming back any time soon.

Glad I followed up on the rumors and shipped off 2 1/1 NASCAR autos off on Saturday. I slab my cards for my personal collections. I was already priced out of the PSA market, but, I just had to make one more submission before the end came. I had a nice run submitting to PSA, but, their mountain is simply to high for me to climb now.

This gonna drive people who pc to different companies? Looks like cgc is at $9 on cards under $100. This price hike seems like a great way to help your competitor gain traction

I wonder how much of this will simply passed on to the buyer? Not all obviously. But are existing PSA cards getting a bump? Only time will tell.

Yes. Zion Williamson Optic PSA 10’s were selling at $230 early yesterday, they’re now up to $280-$290 and he hasn’t played a game in that span. Looks like most of that cost is being passed on to customers, but the real fun thing to watch will be PSA 9’s and how much of a premium they receive over raw modern cards.

Default New up charges

I wonder if they are going to upcharge to the new prices on the stuff that they currently have and could not get graded in a timely manner?

That would seem to be FTC complaints waiting to happen if they pulled that. Heck, I’m thinking about filing one just based on them selling me a silver membership a month ago on the basis of access to the discounted grading and them increasing prices without any advanced warning.

I like it. $25/card with a 10 card minimum is fine for me. Hopefully this keeps pop reports under control as people will think twice about submitting every crappy base card.

Looks like 20 card minimum or did I miss something?

I do think that if fewer low end bass cards are submitted, the ones that are encased are going to see price spikes if/when the market decides those cards/players are hot. This may drive people to continue to think it's worth it to send in lots of low end bass so they're ready when the spikes hit. This is certainly what is going on now, and at some point the pricing makes it so this doesn't work out profitably and I don't think anyone knows what pricing that happens at.

Also, if by some miracle PSA can actually honor their original turnaround times, then suddenly the new pricing seems much more worth it because you can make more money if you can get your cards back sooner, plus it just feels better to actually get something for the extra money you pay (as opposed to the usual PSA tactic of continually raising your prices while letting service get worse and worse and worse). Of course, I wouldn't hold my breath.

For me, personally, I think I'm done sending in low end stuff for now. I really only had things from cases that I opened in the past. These days I don't really want to open anything because I don't want to have to deal with grading and, of course, Wax Always Wins. Of course there will always be a need for sending in higher-end cards, almost regardless of price.

Weight off my shoulders, don’t have to worry about subbing anymore!
Now just gonna wait for my 15+ orders to get completed.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but it’s still only $25/card to submit low end cards in bulk? The amount being submitted probably won’t change much, but the turnaround times will.

People who pay any type of premium on Ultra Modern for a 9 are fools and part of the backlog.

Not going to change much at all. People will still submit a ton. Only way anything changes is when people start to lose money grading cards and that's not happening any time soon.

Hard to comment until I know exactly what the PC Sportscards rates will be but impact looks minimal if you dont mind waiting a few more months on $100-$500 DV stuff. Probably a net win, because now I can bulk this stuff for less than the old "Standard" rate.

What if I just want a 9 and don’t want to wait 12+ months to get it back?

If you already filled out forms and sent stuff in prior to this price hike are you good?

I have a package shipped but not checked in yet

When you complete your submission on PSA, it's like a contract!

So you'll pay this price.

Same here. I assume because it was “submitted” with quoted pricing (old pricing) that we are good, but we’ll see. I also had a couple crossovers in my order so that would be a real bummer for them to just send em back (although i submitted both as PSA 10 or bust)

Anyone care to speculate on how up charges will work for those that have old bulk orders sitting at PSA that have DV of $99 and $199? Will old bulks be grandfathered in $499 declared value?
