You mean people can lose money on this? It's not all unicorns and candy canes?

Why should they protect panic sellers? Let them leave. It's a marketplace, let it sort itself out.

Who ever said you couldn't?

Inverse: people have done very well despite your disbelief.

Not sure why someone with no skin in the game needs to play lifeguard here, unless your opinion of yourself is truly that high. Maybe get some fresh air.

People have lost big money on this already. However, the original big accounts keep on growing through this. I don't think a lot of people are aware that this is beta. The marketplace has been acting funny all day today and I think it is from all the new accounts being made for the big drop happening tomorrow. The big reason why they need to keep it disabled right now is for the current people not to make hundreds of accounts for the drop tomorrow.

The panic is partly due to the overwhelmed capacity of dapper. If people are trying to buy, but they can't, it makes for a panic not based on the true market. There are a lot of uneducated people on Top Shot that don't know that these are issues caused by being in beta and a system that can't handle this much traffic.

I am all for a free market and for people to do what they want, but if sales don't process properly it is a different story.

Went MIA for a few days. Still sitting with all my funds. I'll be participating yet again. Hopefully I can get a pack in the morning .

To everyone who's still hating. You should have put 20 bucks in. You'd have made money selling GIF's.

PS. I'm finally able to withdraw, though I haven't attempted to do so yet(no plans to anytime soon).

You cant see it just thru the yes of a cardboard collector. The same people paying $400 for a 1990 Fleer Wax box and $15,000 for a National Treasures box.

I paid $203 for the Trae young S2 on Monday now it is $80. LMAO. Had to grab a few more to even out my average cost.

Looks like I got extremely lucky as I sold a low serial D Howard S2 for $90 like 15 minutes before the release time for the pack was announced. Dapper is ready for sure now.

Yeah I guess. They must believe there's money to be made.

Some people have a lot more money than me and this is like me spending $100?

I had a look at the site. Thousands of dollars for some low end guys is wild.

Different strokes for different folks..

I'd still like to try.
Hit me that Tim Duncan 3 vs Phoenix in the Playoffs.

Didn’t see too bad of a hit to my valuation given the news that 11k S2 MGLEs are going to hit today. Roughly -15%. Just going to weather it at this point and wait for the challenge news. Feel bad for the people panic dumping them.

I paid $1k for a pack and sold the contents for $4k. I’m not looking but those same moments are probably $10k now. If you’re going to get into this, you need to turn your rational brain off.

Wow. That's a pretty incredible return.

What was the play you got?

The pack guaranteed one holo icon and three metallic golds (this will make more sense as you explore the site). It also had seven commons. I got:

Jerami Grant holo - $1600
2 - Ben Simmons gold - average $800 each
Jimmy butler gold - $500
Seven commons - $300

I’m sure those are way more now but whatever I spent the profit on is up as well so no worries. Wild indeed.

This latest market dip has some big clips lower than I’ve seen since I started which wasn’t all that long ago. I think a lot of things going on when this dips but the one thing I read which I believe could be true is the whales selling to re-buy. I’ve seen multiple posts where it is speculated that the early adopters who have acquired tons of these clips and a bunch of them in multiples will list these to sell at a low price and hope to get undercut. They could possibly lose theirs but at the same time they are buying up the clips that people are panic selling continuing to add to their portfolio and also generating more dapper funds for them. I don’t know that’s what is going on but it makes some sense. I’m holding my rarer clips for now and will try to move my last few lesser desired ones to potentially buy on these dips. I’ll definitely be trying for a pack today.

Heard some talk about this on the radio today... not my thing but still very interesting to watch from the sidelines.

Can someone confirm that they can withdraw proceeds from these high value sales?

I’d say that’s just someone kicking around ideas without doing much research. You can look at the Top 10 Seller accounts in CryptoSlam and see that they’ve listed hardly anything in the past 24 hours.

Not me! I should be getting my approval any day now but there have been a couple here and multiple on discord. Officially, 6000 people can withdraw.

There are some hysterically good deals in the S2 MGLEs and I imagine they’ll get better as the morning goes on. I’m already bunkered down/got caught being massively overexposed to them so I’m just holding, but man people are ready to give you naming rights to their first born to get out.

You can tell who the panic sellers are. 16-22 year olds that were told you will 20x your money if you deposit. While that holds true if you get a pack, that’s not how it works on the marketplace. Or any marketplace. They haven’t had any massive pack drops since the boom and they haven’t even begun to officially market this yet. Weeding these sheep out will bring a more stable marketplace.

Dude we get it. You want it to fail so you can say ‘told ya so’.
We get it. Move along.

Can't log in and when I was logged in, couldn't list anything for sale. Was just going to sell $100 worth of stuff to maybe have Dapper to buy the pack. This site is going to be a poop show today.

This is what always worried me about Topshot. The inability to have a functioning website. The MP is down half the time. Guys like me who have been in it long enough to substantially increase my port will obviously stick around but it’s a huge deterrent to new user growth. I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t have cashed out a month ago if I had the ability due to the MP struggles. I get that this wasn’t supposed to explode like this but in today’s day and age, they excuse of “we weren’t ready for this” isn’t going to get them too far. Unfair but it is what it is.
