Default When you have cataracts and run a possible 2000$ investment

Opened a 2018 topps update pack and got an Acuna Jr Rookie SP only to have my cataracts completely screw up me putting it in the top loader and putting the smallest ding in the bottom left corner my day is going. Hahahaha!

You mean you dinged it getting it in the penny sleeve? Always cut the corner of the sleeve on valuable cards first.

Cut the sleeves??? Ah, that makes a lot of sense...I’ve been cutting the corners of the cards before I sleeve them and getting terrible grades! (I kid, I kid)

Another trick I learned was to take two of the paper sheets from the front of each pack of penny sleeves, put them together and insert them about 1/2 an inch into the penny sleeve. Then, take your card and position it between the two paper sheets so that both corners are completely covered. Slide all three pieces (the two paper sheets and the card) further in until the corners have cleared the top of the penny sleeve by about an inch. Then, remove the paper sheets 1 at a time, so that all that remains is your card an inch inside of the penny sleeve, which can then easily slide the rest of the way in without damage.

How about just sliding your pinky figure quickly to split one side of the sleeve

Use a card saver 1/ULTRA if you can find them, they wider and easier to load sleeved cards, Great Acuna find !!

Default Side note...

Have cataract surgery. I had both eyes done and can see better than I ever did my whole life. Grew up wearing Coke bottle glasses and wish they could have done this when I was a kid.
Best to All,
Vinny

A while ago, I tripped and spilled wine on a mother's day pink /50 Alonso RC that i had in the PSA grade pile. The wine seeped through the CS1. Hope that makes you feel better!

Use extra thick penny sleeves exclusively. Never, ever use a normal penny sleeve. They still fit into toploaders fine.

I did get one eye done, but still have the one in my right. I honestly regret it but I guess it’s better then seeing through clouds, but man the depth perception degrading is insane, I’m 27 and I just can’t get use to it. But thanks for making me feel kind of better.

I literally didn’t even noticed, posted it on eBay and got called out instantly for not posting the ding in the description. I felt terrible, card collectors can be brutal, told me I was ripping people off.

It’s a super rare SSP 2018 Topps Update print. Super hard to find and I found one and screwed it up putting it into a damn penny sleeve. Didn’t even realize what I did due to my bad eyes and got called a scammer from some eBay guy because I didn’t put it had a small ding on the bottom left corner. But yes, this card is apparently super rare!!!

I mean that ding is huge, basically ruined the card. I'll give you $40, and that's being generous.

Lol!! Seriously, people can be jerks....beautiful card, congrats on the pull!!

Had that issue before with a printing line but the guy was very nice about it and we got his return completed.

But anyone who is nasty about that I would say just ignore. There's no reason for ripping someone for making a mistake (especially if you accepted the return, no questions asked).

I've dinged a corner before sliding a card into a penny sleeve. Ever since I slice the side open with a knife.

It's an SP, not an SSP.
Noticed your title says 2k? Where are you seeing that?
Cool card to pull out of one pack.

9/10s go for that much. But it’s worth just a few dollars now. On Beckett for the SP variations of 2018 Topps update this is listed as an SSP
