Target cares this much about resale: 0% One thing they do care about is liability. Nobody with power to make decisions is sitting in meetings signing off on ripping the plastic off prior to leaving the store all because of "those pesky flippers" Again, who is ripping the plastic off? Target employees? The buyer? Does Target take control of the plastic after its ripped off? During Covid.. Dont be so guillable. |

One last thought, because I know its coming
![]() The 3 per limit has nothing to do with reselling and everything to do with trying to meet as much demand as they can. Obviously because the demand is as such, this stuff is being resold, but Target would never make decisions as egregious as forcing a paying customer to remove the manufacturers wrapping before leaving, treating every single customer as a potential reseller. Once you pay for that product, you can do whatever the hell you want with it. Last edited by PSA2Pac; 02-22-2021 at 03:13 AM. |

Went to Target on Saturday afternoon with my Son and they were wiped out of all sports cards and Pokemon. They do finally have the 3 item per customer listed but it is only for sports items, not Pokemon.
Walmart was empty except for WWE and Nascar. |

[QUOTE=PSA2Pac;17022496]Name names. If you're referring to me, you dont know anything about me - so keep your assumptions to yourself. You arent special.
I dont ever find product. When I do get lucky I rip w/ my sons, as well as hook a friend up, that cant find #@#@#@#@, at retail. The only thing thats sad in here is grown men, that fashion themselves as clectors, that think they are part of the privileged few, that are the only ones that can partake (and flip cards on ebay/etc lol) Its Sunday morning. Its a beautiful world out there but you're pouting on a message board about people that scored at a store that is probably thousands of miles from where you live. this man said clectors everybody go check your clection, tell me your favorite person to clect?!

Target:
Pokémon was like a nuclear bomb went off. Empty. Both in the card area AND the toy area(and it had a larger than average display). Sports cards were just as bad. Last week there were two open boxes of soccer attax, and all that was left was one pack opened and empty boxes. Wally World: One 19-20 nhl series one blaster, and 2021 nascar blasters and fat packs (with some 2020 there as well). No Pokémon cards, but some accessories. When I was in the clearance area, found three of the $10.99 decks of Pokémon hidden away. I put them in the card area. |

Limits working. I can’t imagine they stocked this morning already (maybe...) but walked into a bunch of S1 gravity packs and some blisters with the green parallel. And of course NASCAR and update hangers and sportkings
So clutch! Used the coupons from the blasters to get $1.50 off the gravity packs, $1 off the blister, 10% off with games coupon and 5% with red card. 3 packs and 1 blister for $14 ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by ATeamHasNoName; 02-22-2021 at 08:40 AM. |

I've always believed that it was because Target wants people to keep coming back. If, as a customer, you are confident that Target will have cards available then perhaps you also go buy groceries and other stuff while you're there. If you just assume Target will never have any cards and you never go, that still hurts Target even if they sell out of all their cards. It's all about getting people in the door.

Exactly. If Pepsi filled the shelf and it was empty in 20 minutes, target wants you to not run them out. I guarantee Pepsi, coke, etc pay for space also.

You’re talking out of both sides of your mouth. If they care 0% about reselling then the 3 per limit wouldn’t matter to them. They would be turning through inventory without much effort and they would carry on worrying about the other 99.9% of their business. I can guarantee you that they care about the experience of their guests. And right now both their guests that don’t care about cards and their guests that are trying to buy for their own collection are being negatively impacted. So yes, the important people making decisions would sign off on a policy that would improve these experiences. I’m not saying this is the policy, but they’re trying. If they truly didn’t care, they wouldn’t even make an effort to combat bots or resellers on their site or put limits in stores. Right now demand is far exceeding supply which is why aftermarket prices are where they are. If target only cared about demand it wouldn’t matter who pays for the product as long as it’s moving from their inventory at the price and speed that they expect. That would be a genius idea. Will they also have someone standing at the self checkout line counting the number of packs in the boxes, cause you some unscrupulous jack wagon is gonna be stuffing the blasters full of packs.

I'll believe that rumor when I see it, seems a little excessive to me. I just don't think Target is gonna expend the manpower to make that work, unless all cards are sold at customer service or a specific register.

Saw some update hangers at Target just now. Didn’t think to double check if they had the cellophane on them or not. I want to say they didn’t (but honestly didn’t look that closely and the cellophane is usually pretty inconspicuous)

I could be wrong but I don’t think that it does.
I’ve only been able to one hanger so far. I do remember that I had to tear apart the box because the glue on the seals was so strong. And rather than one big clear pack, they put multiple 4 card packs into the box. |

I heard a rumor Target was putting a chip in your hand that had to be scanned when you purchased cards. If you tried to buy more than your allotment of 3, they would cut your hand off - thus barring you from future purchases.
This will be out alongside the “limit 3” signs now as a warning
