Breakers selling Sapphire for $120/pack are cruising through it, still. So that's $960/box minus fees, shipping, etc... and is pretty "easy money" for them. Other breakers still moving through it fairly quickly in mixer type breaks, too.
So we'd need something to change people's desire to open these up for even a small increase in price to make a big difference. $120/pack isn't great EV... so $150/pack isn't a whole lot worse. That gets you to 1200 for someone opening it and probably a reasonable 1k/box "cost" would be acceptable. Singles prices are stable for Haaland base raw. PSA 10 volume is tougher to tell... a stray 1500 auction sale... an accepted offer just days before that at 3500. Yellow /99 going for ("only") $5500. Pair of Haaland/Fati at $4k. FEELS like $2500 would be where the base may be in reality. BINs sitting for 3500. PSA 9's in the 1k range or a little below for a BIN. Growing pop count. Below the peak. And I don't think is going to go up near term without some Buyer's Club support. Fati is down as you'd expect. But still strong at 450-500 for a raw. These had a few stray sales above $700, though, not too long ago. PSA 10 feels sub-$1500 with some at that point BIN sitting there. So maybe close to it. Plus it is apparently the CLEANEST card in the history of modern cards with black labels popping out all over the place. I think it adds up to some support at $1k. Beyond that may be tough unless we get a breakout from someone else. Mount's efforts recently could help with that. Maybe this summer if a guy like Koita goes to Dortmund to replace Haaland or something like that. Once Prizm hits I think it fades pretty fast at that price with current singles prices. As bad as that product is, even. People will move to the next shiny thing. |

Not sure about Mount.
He's well behind Foden, Grealish and even James Maddison. He's not going to become a staple for the England squad, and he will likely fade to the side-lines at Chelsea now Fat Fwank has been kicked to the curb and Kai Haevertz and Ziyech start getting time. Maybe not at GK or CB, but very solid at wingback and CM, too. At least as deep as almost any other country.

"Deep" to me means that we're blessed with multiple players in each position - England most certainly aren't ![]() We're incredibly weak at LB and CM too as well as the others you mentioned. RW isn't ideal either.. we've got Sancho who is great in Germany of course but has always been mediocre in an England shirt, and Greenwood is still learning the ropes. Don't want to hijack the thread, but it is already 68 pages so what the heck. Without thinking too hard or really measuring the pros/cons, this seems like a pretty deep pool (and I'm sure I am missing some, and you may take issue with others being on the list):
GK: Pope, Henderson, Pickford RB/LB (allowing for some to play on either side): TAA, AWB, Walker, James, Justin, Shaw, Chilwell, Cash, Saka (gotta get him on the team somehow) CB: Maguire, Stones, Gomez, Keane, Coady, Tarkowski Midfield (lumping together to leave for variety of formations): Rice, Henderson, Ward-Prowse, Phillps, Foden, Maddison, Grealish, Mount, Smith-Rowe FW (again lumping together): Sterling, Rashford, Kane, Vardy, Calvert-Lewin, Ings, Abraham, Hudson-Odoi, Greenwood, Barnes When us Americans are heads-over-heels for Gio Reyna, I would consider this "deep." |

I don't know if people paying $500 for an 18 year old on his 3rd (maybe?) knee surgery in the last 6 months are really the type that would be thinking through the impacts and lineup considerations for attacking members of England's national team. I think the lineup bottleneck they may have at Chelsea is one thing - but if there is hype there, it won't matter (in this environment - it's plenty irrational).

That squad is weaker than Golden Balls generation, 96', Goran's England and Jug Ears, Gazza & Platt. Last edited by YayNJ; 02-10-2021 at 06:59 PM. |

I think we're OK at left back without being exceptional. Shaw is the inform guy, with Chilwell and Saka there as options. I think Saka could make the squad as he fits into so many positions.
My big worry is GK and then CB, although whenever I do see Kyle Walker play as the RCB in a three, I'm always more impressed than I thought. The biggest issue will be playing conservatively when our strength is attacking. Just need to see if Gareth can let the boys loose. That said, I see it as either France or Portugal's to lose. |

Haaland & Mbappe = the new Messi and Ronaldo... but different.
Felix is the new Griezmann. Tammy Abraham is the new Dion Dublin. |

Boxes selling consistently for $900 now.
These are going to blow past $1,000 eventually. |
