The last few years the single $3-ish packs have had their own unique, 1/pack insert. In 2019 it was the “Stars of the Game”. I think last year it was the non-Chrome version of the Turkey Red inserts, though those were also in some other formats.

But if whatever is the designated 1/pack insert is something you want to collect, the loose packs are a good way to build up a start on those compared to other formats. I have pulled plenty of /x cards from loose packs over the years.

This year I want to figure out which format gives me the best chance at a black ‘86. Though I also really like the 52s this year, which I haven’t always liked in past takes on the design. This time it seems like a good match of card-stock & non-gloss fronts.

Thinking about building both the 52 & 86 inserts.

Pasche has to be short printed right? In roughly 17 blasters/hangers I pulled 5-7 of all the key rookies with the exception of Pasche, which I pulled 2.

In my 5 blasters and 5 jumbo packs I think I have 5 of him.

Just randomness I think. I opened my 12 hangers and 12 blasters from Walmart yesterday and pulled 8 Pache and 7 Jo, but only 3 each of Bart and Carlson.

Interesting. I guess just random then. Also found it odd I hit 4 SP variations (Devers, Mize, Madrigal, Ian Anderson) but only 1 RC parallel (Gimenez /50) unless you count the royal blue (Bohm).

Can't recall if I pulled these out of the jumbo hobby or one of the two blasters I managed to score from Topps.

Any idea what a realistic value is on these two? Better to just hold?

Great hits and tough question. I’d probably list the Carlson with a $400 BIN and good pics. Lower the price by $20 a day or whatever you feel comfortable with. Immediate pay w free shipping.
An argument could definitely be made for holding it considering how absurd the odds are for numbered parallels but early premiums for the best stuff are usually wise to consider. Usually.
I like Garcia’s potential a lot but think that one will be available in 30 days for half the price or less.

Opened two hobby boxes that came in today from Topps, nothing all that great. The one nice hit I did get is of course pretty dinged up on the left side.

Yea, it's a shame, people actually have to 'hunt' for their SPs now

I surprised we haven't gotten to a point where they just print a big fat "SHORT PRINT" watermark diagonally across the front of SPs

SPs are not backwards in retail as far as I can tell. Neither are Advanced Stats

i hit SPs of ted williams and nolan ryan in my retail stuff friday night and both were flipped backwards, though now i'll need to double check remaining stuff if that's inconsistent

Pulled a Mickey Moniak auto /25. Noticed that he doesn't have a base card in this set, like Ke'Bryan. Surpirsed he's even included as I doubted he'd be called up this year. Likely a hold to see if he figures it out...
