Ironically many say it was 1986.

While the total of retail factory sets were unknown last year, the variation sets were calculated to be 97,000 for all three. Add in an estimated 30,000 retail and its probably around 125,000 of all factory last year. If production is up 30% across the board as it's looking like with the hobby and jumbo numbers, you can probably estimate 170,000 factory sets this year (and 170,000 more of each base card when they come out).

BTW, I've calculated 6,729 cases of hobby and 8,619 cases of jumbo so far (the first number agrees with a previous posters calculations) however I've yet to see someone do a breakdown of retail or blasters. Are there numbered exclusives in blasters?

I picked up 10 Meijer blisters today (with the purples). Haven’t opened yet, but already regretting not buying all they had. On a side note, I left all the nba hoops for the scalper that is usually there.

Blasters may be around for awhile.

Using the 25 70th anniversary patch cards that are exclusive to the blasters and using black #/299 at 1:64 odds* and red #/10 at 1:1895* odds shows us about 474,000 blasters or 11,850 blaster cases.
2020 Blaster cases were calculated ~7000.

*Per blaster not pack.

So far 2021 print run seems to be:

6,729 cases of hobby (~5,000 in 2020)
8,619 cases of jumbo (~7500 in 2020)
11,850 cases of blasters (~7000 in 2020)

Not necessarily a bad thing if hoping for Retail to soften Hobby/Jumbo price, which seems inevitable.
