Default Goldin Auction

I’ll have to say Goldin Auction has the worst website out of all the auction houses

Do they give an extension if something like this happens?

Couldn’t load the last 10 minutes.

I’m not..they’ll prob just delay the auction 2 weeks or something. Heritage never has issues like Goldin

I want to consign with them since they seem to get higher hammer prices but this just scares me away. How can it not?

Not exactly confidence inspiring. I was considering sending them a few high ends cards but I think I'll pass after this debacle.

I would be hesitant at this point because I can see them start to lose more and more customers since this is a ongoing issues each auction

Seems to be back up now for the 30 min last call bids. I really think they just get slammed hard at the last 10 minutes.

If you want to bid in the extension period it’s good to get a small bid in probably before then.

I consigned a bunch of cards with them. The service and communication was really good.

I have a decent card with them for auction soon and I can concur with this, they have been first class to deal with so far!

I'm not counting them yet since I'm not selling anytime soon but i need to see better website performance i.e. server not going down during auctions before i feel comfortable with them.

Yeah, their auction software/system is terrible - with frequent unplanned downtime and even planned server downtimes in the middle of their auctions.

I have no idea how they are winning the high-end auction market, but they definitely are. They're getting the best high-end cards and hammer prices. Maybe it's because the competition is also pretty weak. Or, as others have mentioned, their service and communication are very good.

Goldin's site is super useful to see where the high end market is going. Sometimes you can see a card sold for like 100k or 400k where it used to be say 60 or 200 and you get ahead of the curve.

I have a card that has risen to a value of roughly $130k to maybe $150k or more. I've seriously been thinking about consigning with Goldin. I filled out the form on their website a couple weeks ago but didn't get a reply. Is there a better way to go about it? Also, can any of you who have already consigned with them provide info on how the fees work? For instance, say my item (a Jordan, Lebron, Kobe triple auto) sold for $150k, what could I expect my take-home amount to be? I didn't think I'd ever sell it, but the allure of being debt free is becoming very enticing.

I consigned a few weeks ago. I have a $70K to $80K card and they gave me no sellers premium. They will only make money on the buyers premium only. They will do it for big dollar cards. Just call them, that's all.

I emailed them and had a response in 24 hours. Had a sellers agreement sent to me a day or 2 later to review/complete.

we have a MAJOR announcement on Tuesday Feb 16th that will address all of the above technology issues.
when system issues propped up due to a denial of service attempt the bidding period was extended by 45 minutes to allow additional time to get initial bids in prior to extended bidding. We will ALWAYS err on the side of caution to protect our consignors in matters such as this. but stay tuned for Tuesday news. After the announcement i will be conducting an IG live on my IG page @kengoldin and be taking a Q+A period. We know we are an important part of this industry and a trendsetter, and will do everything we can to protect that reputation and our place in the industry. thank you

Thanks for the reply. It might have gone to my junk filter or something. I saw Ken's reply in this thread so I'll shoot him an email.

Hey Ken, what's the deal with the servers going down in the middle of auctions? I want to consign with you but that makes me nervous.

I was happy with the time extension and felt like my cards finished with a great sale price. From 10 minutes to close there were some issues, but the 45 min extension, plus extended bidding allowed my cards to end very well.

Anytime we have emailed the turnaround has been very quick as well.
