Default Anyone ever seen a box like this? 1998 fleer metal universe

I have a chance to buy this box.
It’s only 5 packs/40 cards total.
I have to see the odds but a pmg is unlikely.

But I can’t seem to find a box with the green sides and retail pricing.

Let me know if legit or not.
Thanks

PMG would be unlikely because they were not inserted into retail boxes if im not mistaken. You still have a shot at linchpins and autographics, but your chances at anything are slim to none, i would sell and not break this, and im almost always pro breaking.

Legit, no PMG in retail, even if you pull the main cards they might be stuck to surrounding cards and damaged.

I guess that any Autographics card would be your best hit from that box.

Scott beat me to it, definitely a KMart box. That place was great for finding boxes from numerous years and somehow they sometimes had hobby boxes on top of retail.

they totally did, remember finishing cutting the grass and riding my bike up to kmart (not even a mile away) to get a box of 1999-00 hoops decade hobby for $30. pulled a retrospection collection pippen 1:109 packs...it booked $10, but what a fun rip.

also pulled the jason williams up tempo parallel in there 0055/1989. knew it was his jersey number, but this was before jersey #ed cards were a thing.

I liked cutting the grass...

Sounds like great pulls. I took a two year break from the hobby in the mid90’s then jumped back in about halfway thru the 96-97 season looking for Antoine Walker RCs after Boston drafted him. Kmart was a goldmine for 96 boxes on top of also buying tons of 94 & 95 stuff. I pulled tons of great inserts but didn’t pay much attention to them if they weren’t MJ or Celtics. I do remember pulling a Jordan 95 Skybox Premium Standouts Hobby insert.

Edit: I remember pulling a Scoring Kings Hot Pack out of 95 Ultra box and not having any clue what it was.

Chances are extremely high you'll regret that.

I guess with planet metals 1:36 packs he has a *chance* at kobe or Jordan, but with 5 packs is it? For $100? Hard pass for me, but wish OP the best of luck of course. Heck I hope he hits a linchpins.

People are buying blasters of lesser products for a good markup why not gamble on a retro product?

100% Agree and I'm a pretty big gambler, but you have to weigh the odds sometimes and I'm just not seeing it here. Again just my opinion.

Notice I didn’t say I’d buy it at that price 👍
