My kids are going to be extremely happy. They will be eating Lucky Charms for breakfast and Happy Meals for dinner for the next 3-4 weeks!

Depending on the McDonald's you can ask them to just sell you the packs directly. They used to be $1.99 a pack in the past. Again depends on your local store.

I do hope the centering is better on the GM promos this time. The last 2 sets have been really bad overall.

McDonalds has had happy meal promo cards every year since, I think, 2011 so this shouldn’t be surprising. This year will be different because the amount of people paying attention to Pokemon since the last McD promotion has grown exponentially.

Na what really killed it was the inventor saying he was discontinuing making them. Prices cratered.

I found a couple boxes at a local Walmart yesterday. Each pack has a holo Pikachu with 2 other regular cards from the set. Looks like the packs are selling for about 20-25 right now on Ebay. I wished I would have gone back to pick up some more after I opened them when I got home.

I remember the last couple of years I bought complete sets of the Happy Meal Toys for $25...don’t think that’s possible this year...

What's the draw with these 2 sets? Is there a chase?

Or, is this more of the flipping game with the packs?

My GF works at McDonalds and said they sold a whole case to a guy this morning for $250. They've caught on and are now telling her that it would be $43 for 10 packs. I thought sure why not, saves the time of buying a meal. Now she said they are speaking to higher ups trying to raise the cost? Jesus christ.

I'm pretty sure this horseshit is where I'm going to hit my tipping point with this hobby.

I guarantee that I'm going to get my son his once a week McDonald's in a day or two and he's not actually going to get a pack because they're being actively scalped by people. And hell, if it wasn't super, duper obvious that was what the toy was supposed to be, then whatever. But try explaining to a 5 year old that McDonald's is out of the cool toys on day 1 because they're being horded by old degenerates. It's not the same thing as what happens at Target and Wal-Mart, and I'm disgusted by the shamelessness of it all.

Here is a solution, don't sell them outright to people. Make them buy meals or certain meals idiots in management.

The fact that people are able to flip these for a profit is crazy to even think about. About 14,000 McD’s in the US. If each store gets 500 weekly packs each week then that’s 7,000,000 of each pack. I don’t know if 500 each week for a premium is accurate but I would bet it’s close. These are far from rare.

I know a guy who works in distribution for mcdonalds and they are probably going to tell restaurants to not sell anymore individually. you must purchase a a happy meal.

Pro tip....Use the $7 off $20 deal in the app and get 6 hamburger happy meals for around $14 after tax. Even if you don’t have kids you can share the burgers and fries with a friend for lunch and stock the fridge with milk and apple slices

$14 for the 6 packs is a pretty good deal on its own.

It would make sense to me that they're going to cut off the individual sales. There are going to be plenty of customers that go absolutely ballistic if they don't get the packs and toys with the Happy Meals (where they belong anyway). That kind of feel bad experience is how you lose customers permanently.

I know the ones in San Francisco will not sell them individually because I talked to a manager today. They got literally 100 phone calls and 20 walk ins about selling them the Pokémon toys individually per store so the district manager will forbid all individual sales in fear of angering customers.

I talked to a couple cashiers at 2 McDonald’s. One said that they did not have them yet but they had them at 2 other McDonald’s that he works at — and that someone came in around midnight trying to buy their entire case but they only sold him 20.

The other cashier simply said that they did not have them yet.

I ended up going at 10:30 and grabbing 4 happy meals. They said you can't buy the cards without the happy meal, so that was great to hear. I just wanted a few for myself. I hope everyone is able to get some and don't let people price gouge and own the market.

Thats not true. Me and my buddy were able to secure 2 sealed cases of the packs. Just gotta be smart about how you approach purchasing them
