I got lucky and back in May I picked up every Star card ever made, a 1986 Fleer set with a Jordan BGS 6 rookie, Bird/Magic Rookie Set among others.
The rise of this XRC MJ is amazing! Back in May I got it graded and it came back an 8.5 which was a $12 - 15,000 card at the time. Now it's above $30,000 which is more than I paid for the entire collection! I'm going to get my 5x7's graded next |

Yes, I'm holding all the Jordan's from that set now. Such a rarer MJ than the Fleer card

There is a 1986 Stars Michael Jordan 10 cards set all graded BGS 9 listing on eBay now which I was just about to hit the buy it now but found out the seller raised its price; However, that could be a very good buy for its original price. Anyway, I have moved on since I already got a couple BGS 9.5 ones in that set.

You think these cards have more potential upside and room to grow than the Fleer cards? Specifically 87 Fleer stickers / base.... I have chance to grab one each of the 87s psa 9 or take a chance at some of these star cards but not both.. Advice?

The 84 -86 Star Jordans are absolutely in Michael Jordan's rookie cards lineup even the 86 Stars were published in the same year as the iconic #57 and the Stickers; these 25 cards were Michael Jordan's first 25 official NBA licensed cards of his career, so the 87 Fleer are not comparable with the Star Jordans even they out sell the Star Jordans by miles right now. If you check eBay's sale records, you will clearly see the power of Michael Jordan fans. We bought Star Jordans because we like them. For myself, I wouldn't want hot money from investors coming in, otherwise new collectors will not have any chance buying a Jordan rookie. Last edited by Totalpackage; 02-01-2021 at 01:25 PM. |

I hate the large size of the court kings but they seem pretty rare..

What would you guys do with a sealed 84-85 Court Kings bag? The Jordan is in impeccable condition and so is the bag. On one hand, I'd hate to rip it open, but the bags are such a pain to store as well (any ideas let me know).

Love seeing some attention on the Star cards finally. Just picked up a gorgeous signed PSA/DNA 1986 #117 recently with period auto. Just wish i upgraded my 101 when it was so cheap to do.

Currently the difference between the 8 and 8.5 auctions is approximately $7,000. Is there a cut off point with the grades where it goes from average to a good grade? Is the difference between an 8 and 8.5 a good example with this card or is the difference between say a 7.5 and an 8 a better example of this?

I'd say anything 7.5 or above for the 101 is a nice grade to have this card in.

So do you think they (PSA-BGS) will ever start to designate the “period” autographs? I got Star & Fleer NBA cards signed 35 years ago, and was hoping their may be a premium value there one day.

this one just popped up. whats the demand like on an altered card? Do the cons outweigh the pros? This might be the only one I can afford.https://www.ebay.com/itm/1984-85-Sta...4AAOSw5wlgGyU3
