No golds, no foils, only memories.

Just had a thought, P2020 originally was advertised as each card coming in a Ultra Pro one touch. Topps ended up using multiple types of holder's, down to even snap tights. P2020 was 400 cards...P70 is who knows how many, wonder what Topps is going to be sending these out in?

Congrats! I love that card. Looks so good with the sig.
Mine was a journey reminiscent of my fruitless early AP expositions. It was a morning and afternoon like most of them during this release-filled run in the midst of this weird Covid world: Twitter, FB, IG, coffee, Discord, Blowout, Artist websites, Discord, Blowout. Releases start a crowd off in the distance. They are that Friday night lights high school football game a little ways from your house. You're out on the deck in the hot tub sipping a micro and you can catch just enough of the Ooohs, Aaaahs and screamed cheers to feel a tic of nostalgia creep in. Your mind wanders back to your sporting days. An excitement builds within. Whispers about what card is dropping or what prices are going to be or what edition size they'll be crawl across the socials. Your heart thinks back to the last drop. The one you missed while submitting payment information. Back in your hot tub, you're pondering the lingering notes of your micro and a swell from the crowd flashes you back to that touchdown way back when. You can see the ball in the air, the dream world fuzzy around it. You remember the catch. The corner is chasing you now and everything is slowing down. You go blank. You can't hear anything. Time stops. You've crossed the goal line. Did that just happen? Your dog barks, snatching you from the 90s (or whatever year HS was) and depositing you back into your hot tub. A last couple of glances at Discord and Blowout and you're at the drop website now, you wait to put the password in. You don't refresh too much, just enough. You don't want a bot tripping you up at the one. You check your phone, look to the clock on the wall and then glance to the one on your computer. The seconds hand turn on the wall clock, then the computer. You input the password and you're in. The ball is in the air! Everything is fuzzy outside the screen. You can no longer hear your wife. Time slows down. The page loads, you scroll down instinctively and pass all the items for sale. Your heart skips a beat and you scroll back up and quickly sort the symbols on the screen until you settle upon what it was you were buying. Click. You've caught the ball. Now the bastard is really chasing you. They're all chasing you! You're heart goes about 20 clicks faster as you scramble through the cart process. Everyone is faster than you and you know it. They're coming. Faster dang it. Faster! You click submit. Time stops. For either a lifetime or two seconds, everything that is holds in the balance. Confirmation! You've crossed the goal line. It's still a blur of teammates, high fives and happy excitement. This was supposed to be me today. I was gonna tote that Naturel across the goal line and spike the SOB in my PC! But, it was not to be. I got locked out of the PE website on all three of my devices for trying to get in early on my phone (I think?). Don't cry for me, Blowout Family. Like everything TP2020, there seems to be always a sense of chaos and disorder that coalesces for just one brief millisecond into perfection. This drop (and only this one the whole time, ha) I decided I might need backup. Enter Poppa Cam in MT. While I lingered in that eternity that is a locked website that says try again in 10 minutes, he was scooping up my fumble. He accidentally clicked on Cartoon, but then still had time to exit and of course was able to secure a Baller Griff. Long story short: Thanks pops, YOU DA REAL MVP!!! |

SAMCAM - this story had me smiling. I bought a Taylor Clemente /20 from Taylor. Needed an artist signed something or other. No idea if they'll ever be in demand or desireable, but It's a card I passed on and liked the look. My story from today, was more admiring the Taylor Clemente auto, hoping it would sell out before I could check out, though. But alas, it went through. I'm excited. I'm up to one artist auto, one gold, one commission, one companion, three splatter art cards, and now possibly working on one player set. I Just need to find my player auto, and I guess a silver frame /20, a foil, and a Framed Art Print, and I'll have the cross-section. What am I missing, besides your necklace?
