I obviously own plenty of this guy just like I own plenty of Mike Scott, plenty of Bryant Stith, and way too many London Perrantes Contenders Draft autos. I’m also probably the only person on earth anxiously awaiting the release of Anthony Gill autos (hopefully Panini will stick him in chronicles or something). So for whatever it’s worth I assure the BO community this is NOT intended to be a shameless pump thread.
I’ve LOVED this kid since he was redshirting at Virginia. Great kid, inspiring story, and obviously a tremendous college player who went something like 62-5 with an ACC title and a National championship as a college player at UVA. He has really taken a big leap forward so far in Year 2 and is starting to garner a little national level attention. Honestly I never really doubted that he’d evolve into a solid 2 way NBA contributor, but the leap he’s taken in the past 9 months with his ball handling ability has me thinking he’s going to be a heck of a lot more than that. If I can get my freakin Tapatalk account situation figured out I’ll look forward to posting some pics of some of my nicest DeAndre stuff. In the meantime I’d love to see some of what the BO community is currently holding on to. (Jay Huff thread coming 10/21......)

I'll admit, I'm surprised at the step forward he's taken this year. Great fit on this Hawks team too.

Hoos rule.
This is the least surprising performance out of the 2019 draft class. |

Wahoowa. I want a Diakite. In all seriousness, watching the success of Hunter and Brogdon this season has been great.

I’m a big Trae fan so i try to watch when they’re available in my area. Always liked Hunter but never though he’d be this budding offensive force we’ve been seeing glimpses of. Looking like he might be pulling away as the 3rd best from the draft.

My wife attended UVA so by default I am a Hunter fan. Picked up his draft picks color blast a couple months ago for just over $100 and have one of his fanatics green ice that was pack pulled. Two of my favs in my collection. Those color blasts look so good in person. Too bad they didn't make an NBA jersey one for him as well in spectra last year.

Last year the Ringer said he had little feel for the game. I thought he'd be solid across the board - I didn't think he had this - I just thought he'd be a solid player - isn't going to lose you any games.

When I pulled this in a break I was mildly excited, but then when I was checking his numbers I saw that he is doing great this year. I had heard he's a very good defensive player so was very happy to see his offensive game coming around. I've only got to see him play once though.

I never watch much ncaa, but watch tons of hawks games. He is one of the best young 2 way players in the league and can score at will from anywhere and very solid defender. Super humble guy very likeable.

I originally thought with the FA signings that the Hawks did that Hunter would be the odd man out and he was for a little while until injuries started to pile up. I sold some of his cards way too freaking soon this season when I should have held longer. Still had a nice profit, but I am kicking myself now and buying back what I can. That's a fail on my part, sell low and buy high.

Many people are saying he is the best player on the Hawks. Many advanced metrics are saying the same. Beautiful, big advanced metrics. The best advanced metrics

I’ve considered making one, but wasn’t prepared for the abuse of ‘he doesn’t deserve his own thread.’ He has really taken a big step forward this year. Love his combined ability to slash and shoot.

Harris, Brogdon & Hunter... Coach Bennett has a knack for finding and molding hidden talent.

Love this guy. Nice writeup on his development and how he fits in with Trae and the hawks so well...

I have to say I thought he and Reddish were great players but was concerned about ball movement or should I say ball availability. Only 1 ball and 3 or 4 guys ie Nets. I have been amazed at the distribution and fairly solid consistent even play across the board. He is definitely a good 2 way player which is becoming more and more rare.
