Default Why are Luka, Trae & Zions prices dropping now?

Is the bubble about ready to burst, or is everyone just turning to vintage now?

Mostly their prizms & NT’s.

Examples:

Luka silver Prizm psa 10 was $9100 two weeks ago now are $8000

Trae Silver select courtside psa 10 was $10,000 now it’s $7500

Trae Tiger BGS 9.5 Prizm was $14,000 now its $8500

Luka NT RPA 9.5 sick D in Dallas was $350,000 now $150,000

Zion holos PSA 10 optic was $3000 now $1800

Trae NT RPA 9.5 was 55-70 k now are $40-50k

While Kobe finest rc refractors psa 9 went from 9k to 20k plus

KD refractor chrome rc psa 10 from 13k to 35k

Bron base chrome rc psa 9 from $4000 nov 2020 to $10,000 now

Seems like vintage is going nuts while most of these overhyped youngsters are losing money?

Lol it’s not over, especially with vintage. I just noticed a quick shift in the market away from prospecting atm

Nobody runs out and overpays for cards in the middle of a losing streak. Also, Prizm is overrated.

When you buy a 1993-94 Hoops set for the sheer enjoyment of it, get back to me. Otherwise, can’t help you.

Mainly just a rotation into 90's and vintage. Also, they haven't been playing up to what was already baked into the price leading up into the season. Pelicans don't look like a playoff team, Trae had a stretch of bad games which lost momentum for his cards, and Luka started the season shooting like poop and losing games.

I'm guessing alot of people began to hedge a little bit and sell off some stuff they were up big on or weren't in love with (high-end) to minimize risk. There's alot of talk right now in the hobby that people are getting smarter. Alot of new entrants are getting past their Base Prizm phase and starting to graduate into wanting more collectible cards.

It's not a time to panic. The market getting smarter and rotating into other things is a good thing. Sign of a healthy and rational market.

Because they've increased too much too fast....i.e. reversion to the mean.

Also, the fact that all three are failing to take their team to the next level isn't helping either. Everyone expected both the Mavs & Pelicans to be serious playoff contenders this year.
