Which is at an all time high and not going down anytime.

Everything can be ended with higher interest rates.
It would be game over for every asset.

The more people clean out stores, the more complaints stores will receive. I think limits are going to be more common, companies will crank the presses or both.

I think the solution is to buy singles. I started joining breaks this year and you’re better off buying the cards you want.

Breaks are fun but you’re setting fire to 75% of your money if you get a good price.

My local target rep said she has discretion for doling our cards when there’s a line. Target by me does not have the staffing to put them behind customer service. Last week there were 8 people waiting and they took all the sports cards.

I’m more offended by online bots. At least you have to make an effort to go to the store.

As I said above, the obvious solution to me now that I’ve set fire to hundreds of dollars in breaks this Christmas is to buy singles. If you want to break wax for the rush just accept you’re setting $ on fire. The breaks really are fun though, it’s a nice way to spend a night in quarantine.

I guess the last option is to buy product and hold it until it doubles and then sell one box and rip the other.

That's what people were saying in 2007.

Look up the number of people who haven't paid their rent or their mortgage since COVID-19 arrived. The real estate market is far more vulnerable than the headlines suggest, and that's before we get into the bloodbath that will be commercial real estate in 2021.

If nobody has paid their rent, then who is buying cards?

I didn't say "nobody has paid their rent."

The government has been helicoptering money for a year while telling people they can't be evicted if they don't pay rent or their mortgage. A lot of the same people who were getting unemployment + $600/week + stimulus checks last year are now eight months behind on their rent.

Are they, or did they use their $600/wk to pay the rent?

Oh wait... maybe they said, "Screw rent! I'm going to Walmart to buy some Topps!"

$600 a week couldn’t even pay rent out here.

Well, $600/wk could easily cover rent out here....

If you buy cards and flip you can make $100,000 with $600. That is what people think...

There's no "maybe" about it.

Ok, buddy.

No matter how hard you try, you alone won't crash the market so you can buy retail. Keep trying though.

If you were so confident, you wouldn't have to keep missing the point so aggressively.

Guy, like 70% of your posts are in these three threads:

Retail Hoarders and Extortion
Is the current market “forcing” some of you to sell???
2020: The Year of Topps Overkill?

I think it's pretty clear what your attempting to do. Do you even find joy in this hobby?

Yes, I joined the forums so I could try to cause a crash in card prices. You caught me. I guess card prices will continue increasing by 150 percent per year forever now.

That's the thing: There's nothing to enjoy about the bubble from a hobby standpoint. "The hobby" and "the industry" have never been more different.

I disagree....I've enjoyed the spike in interest and value (selling and collecting). Tougher to get product, sure.....but cards will always be fun to me regardless.

I haven't bought unopened packs/boxes in nearly half a year and don't even bother looking when I drop by Target anymore. I've picked up singles and that's it. The hobby has not been as fun for me since I refuse to pay 2-4X retail markup and enrich all these greedy/flipper fools. Topps is becoming no better with their nutzo box/case prices for not a whole lot of value/fun factor.

I've started spending more money on home improvement projects as a result, so I guess it's good that my house is a better place to be in light of the sports card market these days.

i enjoy my collection so nothing short of a crystal ball could convince me to sell, and I don't have a crystal ball.

Besides, if the market crashes now or in the next few years, it will all come back when Mike Trout Jr first bowman lands and we get nostalgic and start buying cards again. Talk about what the hype will be for that kid.

You’re close, but wrong JR. It’ll be LeBron James Jr.
