Funny seeing the meltdown here. When it’s called, it’s the dumbest rule in sports according to many. I’m not even sure it was a penalty. It looked like helmet to arm to me.

If he doesn't try to stretch for the endzone, the Browns have 1st & Goal at around the 2-yard line with over a minute left and two time outs. They are highly likely to score the TD anyway, and by running more time off the clock, decrease the likelihood that KC can score before the half.
Seriously - tell me one play that wouldn't try to score a touchdown in that scenario????? What is he suppose to do - Slide? Go out of bounds? Come on

I know Tony Romo is a good analyst, but I have no idea how he gets paid so much money. His voice is GRATING.

It may be a flawed rule at times, but I's a rule nonetheless. Terrible turn of events in what should have been a 1st and goal

Yeah, but they need to change that rule. How does it go from being within an inch of a touchdown to giving the Chiefs the ball? The Chiefs didn't even recover the fumble. That's why people hate the rule.

Mayfield INT. Game over.

You try and score the touchdown while maintaining full control of the ball and protecting it with your body.

I really don't get the people that have a problem with the fumble into the endzone rule. The defense protected their endzone so they should get a benefit from it.

I will give you the opposite scenario. Lets say a team is on their own 1 yard line and the defense causes a fumble that goes out the side of the endzone. Should it now not be a safety and instead placed back at the 1 yard line?

There are some different rules when it comes to the endzone versus the field of play. Why should this one scenario be an exception to all of the other rules?

And that's okay in my book. "Browning" in the second round of the playoffs is better than being 5-11 and talking about the draft! Good season to get the ball rolling. The entire team is under contract and Williams/Delpit should be healthy. It will be a long wait for September but I don't think any of us (even the most diehard Cleveland fans) saw this coming.

And who knows...maybe this will still be a game.

It sucks every time this TD fumble rule is called everyone gets up at arms about how horrible the rule is but the NFL hasn't changed the rule.

Somehow the Browns still alive.

"A guy named Blake" is in.

99% of the time that hit to the head will not be called.

You know why?

The ref is watching the players feet and the ball. He’s not watching the hit. Refs don’t have 8 eyes to watch everything on a downfield play like that.
