Yeah change the rule to if it rolls out of the back of the endzone..but not the sideline.. and replay just showed some serious helmet to helmet

The problem with that play is the defender has no choice but to dive head first into the offensive player. How else is he supposed to make a play?

Honest question - is launching with the crown of the helmet and contacting the other person’s helmet allowed? If it’s not, and it’s seen on replay, what precludes the officials from calling it?

"It is a foul if a player lowers his head to initiate and make contact with his helmet against an opponent. Contact does not have to be to an opponent’s head or neck area – lowering the head and initiating contact to an opponent’s torso, hips, and lower body, is also a foul. Violations of the rule will be easier to see and officiate when they occur in open space – as opposed to close line play – but this rule applies anywhere on the field at any time."

Gene said it isn't reviewable in NFL so would need to be called on field. Stupid rule just like NBA that you can't call a foul on a review

Chiefs O is rolling. 293 yards in the 1st half.
They will shoot up the toe, he will be fine.

Obviously not. But a big play in a playoff game that results in a turnover should be reviewable under any circumstances. It's the difference between 19-3 and 19-10 at halftime.

Huh? Chiefs had more penalties than I saw in the 1st weekend of the playoffs called . Browns on pace to give up almost 600 yards.

It shouldn’t have been reviewed. Anyone with eyes saw it happen in real time. There was nothing questionable about it. Stinks game decided like that. KC was likely winning anyways but if they kept it 16-10 at half with Browns getting the ball it’s at least more interesting.

Plus, if the NFL is keying on cracking down on player safety, this type of play seems like it could be prioritized by making it reviewable. I have no dog in the race

He will be fine. Gotta get out of this one first. Baker is playing well, Browns are legit.

Anyone with half a brain should be pissed at that play:
- Its an obvious Helmet to Helmet launching hit and should be reviewable. Just like the turnover is reviewable. - Its a horrible rule. Its close to a consensus that every analysis, past and present player despise the rule. |

Bad miss by the refs, but....
Also a bad play by Higgins. If he doesn't try to stretch for the endzone, the Browns have 1st & Goal at around the 2-yard line with over a minute left and two time outs. They are highly likely to score the TD anyway, and by running more time off the clock, decrease the likelihood that KC can score before the half. |

Chiefs defense is good. Blitzing covers up some deficiencies, but I think they are much better than people give them credit.
I'm thinking this is done by the end of the third quarter. Browns make it respectable in the 4th, but chiefs win by 10+ |
