Yes i have been too, are you gonna come up with the line “ if you are not from manchester then you should not support manchester united “ . Or “ all other supporters from outside the country are plastics” . Manchester united had a lot of success from the 90’s and there are a lot of supporters for them worldwide, deal with it.

And everybody hates leeds united.

If you go to Manchester, historically its majority City fans, and I'm talking years and years before the money take over. My aunt married into a British family from Manchester and he said its like 10-1 City vs United fans.

Why are those empty seats at the city stadium if they have all the fans.

The money came after the success. . We are not Like chelsea or man city where someone just influxed a ton of cash to win something. Its the opposite for us, the stupid owners are leeching the money out of united.

YouGov actually did a case study on this a few years ago (why? I have no idea)

Only 28% of Man Utd fans come from the entire North West region. Man City it's 49%. It also showed that Man City supporters are much older than Man Utd supporters showing long term support, where as Man Utd generally had a much younger fan base.

Obviously Manchester United don't actually play in the City of Manchester either, but rather the borough of Trafford.

That doesn't mean anything on it's own, Man Utd have a lot more fans in total so the percentage of their fans in the NW will be smaller than Man City but the absolute number can still be larger, 28% of a very big number can be more than 49% of another. One of the smaller Manchester sattelite teams would probably have a very high percentage of their fans in the NW but have a much smaller absolute number.
