Best Parallel Set of the Decade - Voting

This poll is for Blowout to decide what was the best Parallel Setof the decade.

This vote is for the specific listed year of each set. Preference was given to either the first year the set came out, or a year that stood out from previous. It's fine if you take subsequent year's into account as part of your decision.. it's up to you.

The nominees were suggested by Blowout members on a previous thread.

Best is easily Galactic. Prizm Silver is a mediocre looking refractor of a mediocre card. There’s nothing special about it in terms of eye appeal... it was simply next up after Chrome disappeared and never lost grip of first place despite better looking products coming along later. I get that Revolution isn’t retail and it’s not everyone’s cup of tea because it isn’t simple enough, but in terms of wow factor eye appeal, the Galactic is king. On a forum that has a deep appreciation for the wild designs of the 90s, you can’t not love these cards... unless you’re dead inside.

2012 Prizm Silver is the cornerstone of this decade, and it brought up the new King from the Panini era. In addition, it is the perfect timing for having double RC classes with Kawhi, AD, Kyrie, Kemba, Butler, Klay, Lillard, Beal.... nuff said.

It was really hard to vote against the 2012 silver because it has been the most influential parallel/set of the decade. But to me it doesn't look the best, so it isn't the best. Out of these, I think galactic is the best design.

But Prizm silver is what's keeping Prizm alive.

This is a great question!

I’d have to go with the 2012 Golds. It seems like those cards are Panini’s ceiling and the measuring stick for all other cards.

Really the only 3 on the list worth a damn are the 2012 Silvers, 2012 Golds, and 2015 Galactics.

The rest aren’t even the best iterations of the parallel. I know you just listed the first iterations, but in retrospect we won’t put stuff like the 2017 Optic Black Velocity over the 2018. Then again, maybe we will?

The fact that the silver is beating out the gold version goes to show how good of a pump job they did on that set.

Don't forget, the lack of golds were what drove up the silvers. The lack of silvers is what's driving up the Bass.

I would vote Galactic but I prefer the 18/19 design.

It was the 2017-18 for the first time, if I am not mistaken. Got a couple of Courtside Zebras and the look amazing.

I personally prefer the Gold to the Silver but I think it's more of a 1a - 1b situation.

My personal favorite prizm parallel is the Tiger Stripe

I prefer the Futura over the Galactic, 15-17 just looks a lot better than Galactics and I like how they’re serial numbered.

The 2012 Gold is the chase and parallel of the decade IMO.

I agree. Nebula(especially the 2018) is THE thin stock card for every player.

I think Dragon's will get their love one day, but since we're in the era of 50+ parallels per set, per player, it doesn't differentiate itself enough to get lots of chatter...for now.

I voted for Galactic. Big eye appeal that is unfortunately being watered down by Panini more and more every year.
