Cheers to a 2021 season, renewed my tickets hopefully its a fun year.

Im curious to see if the Hawks make any actual Rebuild moves or not.

I dont mind going with the 3 unproven goalies. I would rather have a legit top 15 guy, but to see waht you have here is fine.

But, Im afraid if they do rebuild, Kubalik the best name dealt.

Im just ready to see an official annoucement on the season. Im still thinking 60 games, with the same 24 team play off set up.

I think for legitimacy related to a rebuild/retool Kubalik needs to stick around for awhile.
Not too sure about the Blackhawk D prospects, but the young forwards look pretty good.
Dach is a winner IMO. He showed well in his limited playoff experience. I really like DeBrincat as well.
I was gonna say that Brandon Saad is a likely trade candidate until I realized he already got shipped to Colorado for Ds Zadorov and Lindholm.
Also, if it wasn't for C-19, cash-strapped owners, a flat salary cap and no fans in buildings for the forseeable future I would expect Patty Kane to get moved. He's very high skill and IMO still a top 10-15 player in this league. He could bring a lot of assets back.
What would the local fans think of this?

Outside of I want KaneToews to be hawks for life, if they really plan on a true rebuild, they both should be dealt and this should become Dachs Team.

My girlfried loves Dach, and he really impressed me in the playoffs. I think he can be a top 30 player in the league, excellent 2 way potential imo.

As for Kub, Im just worried if he can continue 25-35 goals, he will comman 10m in the market in 3 years, and not sure if they can/will afford that.

But Saad was sad to see go, but not surprised.

I still like the core, just need the Def to step up and the power play to be figured out. I still dont care for Coach C.

But
Kane, Toews, DeBrincat, Dach, Kubalik is still an elite core that I believe can win games.

If the new guy they aquired can win more faceoffs and they can potentially have more possesion might take some pressure off the Def, and help everything out.

But Im optimistic, I still think they can be a playoff team as constructed.

are you talking about Wallmark?
here's some FO stats on him- not bad really.
https://puckbase.com/stats/player-fa...lucas-wallmark
for $950K he's a good choice with little risk

I think Dach needs some mentoring from a guy like Captain Serious.
Also, not sure what trade value Johnny gets on the market with his $10.5M for 3 more years. i think his true value is with the 'Hawks being the leader to the youngsters.
Kane on the other hand still has a lot in the tank and would fit in just about anywhere in the League. Too bad no one has much money these days.
They both also have NMCs so would have to agree to get moved.
Would love to see PK in Vancouver but will never happen.

Wallmark's signing could prove to be a steal. Not a Kubalik level steal, but certainly should deliver positive results.

Toews, you can't move simply for the reasons previously discussed.

Kaner is tougher to move simply because he delivers and he's the surefire Hall of Famer from this dynasty. He needs to wear that sweater from start to finish (in my fanboy eyes).

Dach and Debrincat make for an exciting young core to transition.

The young D is exciting, but young D and unproven goalies is rarely a good combination.

Truly, I don't see the need for a rebuild...nor do I think it's all that possible with the cap issues.

There's fire power on the roster.

Agreed. I dont think the Hawks are 100pt Best team in the NHL calibur as constructed. But I think they can be a middle team, 6-8 seed.
Once youre in, anythings possible. If you told me they had a month where they were #1 in scoring, I could believe it. But same goes fro #1 in goals allowed.

I just want to see the power play click, and I think that could flip this team completely around.

As for the Season, still hoping January First and 60 games, but starting to feel like thats not happening.

Undisclosed illness. Kind of odd that we don't know what it is.

Yea, I would have assumed Co-vid, but he would have tested postive already, and would be 6 weeks or probably more removed before the season started. So, I worry its some thing more severe.

But, I went from strongly believing they could make the playoffs to, the Detroit Match ups will determine who drafts top 4 lol

Maybe its medical staff doen't have a clue neither.

Toews said he's working with the medical staff to try to understand what's happening. Tiredness and lethargia, that might be one of those modern diseases like fibromyalgia or myalgic encephalomyelitis. I wish him the best on its path to recovery!

It could also be those long hauler Covid related issues that some experience. No longer positive, just long recovery.

Regardless, I hope he gets well.

This guy is automatic HOF when he hangs 'em up.
Would love one more playoff round for old times sake against Toews/Kane/Keith and the new 'Hawks should the format allow it.

While I think Duncan Keith and Jonathan Toews get inducted, it will be a longer wait than a lock like Patrick Kane.

1. Bowman is there longterm
2. This solidifies them not making the playoffs
3. How fast can they sell off their vets-no fans in the stands anyway. kane+keith have to realize they're not going to win here in their prime.
4. Remember kracken get 3rd pick this year no matter what
5. Coyotes don't have a first rounder
6. Ottawa is trying to compete. Detroit looks like garbage and new jersey is in a rough division but has crow now. Feels like a top 5 pick.
7. I hope they keep the hawks convention. if you're a hockey fan. it's $100 for 3 days of autographs. They usually have 5 HOF.
8. Who else can develop.

This from Wikipedia-

Nicknamed "Captain Serious", Toews was selected by the Blackhawks with the third overall pick in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. He joined the team in 2007–08 and was nominated for the Calder Memorial Trophy as NHL Rookie of the Year. The following season he was named team captain, becoming the second-youngest captain in NHL history (after Sidney Crosby) at the time. Toews won the Stanley Cup in 2010, along with the Conn Smythe Trophy for the most valuable player in the playoffs. After winning the Cup, Toews passed Peter Forsberg as the youngest player to join the Triple Gold Club. He won the Stanley Cup again in 2013 and 2015.

Toews competes internationally for Team Canada and has won gold medals at the 2005 World U-17 Hockey Challenge, 2006 and 2007 World Junior Championships, 2007 World Championships, the 2010 Winter Olympics (a tournament in which he was named best forward) and the 2014 Winter Olympics. In 2017, he was named one of the 100 Greatest NHL Players.

He also took the UND to the Frozen Four in 2006 and 2007.
And he scored 3 goals in a single shootout against the US in the 2007 WJC.
This guy gets in to the HOF his first year of eligibility.

toews keith kane and q are automatic 1st ballot hof. 3 cups in the salary cap era and twice they beat teams in the bruins and lightning that made 5 final appearances themselves and counting.

I didn't see the case to keep stan. aside from debrincat where he got lucky on the height and dach where he won the lottery he hasn't had any good picks in years. colliton is a bust. this screams 1999-2003 bulls all over to me only w/out the jerrys selling off or retiring all the jordan era guys. Kane needs to go for picks and keith+seabrook need to be men and allow moves.

Kind of glad not to see Corey end up suiting up for the Devils. He has nothing left to prove and he is one more puck to the dome away from being about brain dead with his concussion history.

Enjoy retirement, Crow! My favorite Hawks player of the 2010's.

Never? Toews isnt going anywhere. The contract + health issues. Hell be in Chicago till retirement.

Seabrook wouldnt be able to be dealt, and why would he want to waive his no movement clause for 1 season or so that he wont see much ice team. Not up rooting my family for that.

Keith, same as Seabrook, but maybe theres a chance. I doubt it.

Kane is the only of the 4 that would make sense. Both from a Player Winning, to a Possible return for the Franchise.

If you really think Kane/2 others are a second line pair, and Kubalik is a 4th line group you are selling them short. While yes, they arent a stacked team, and havent been relevant in 6 years. You just seem to like to talk #@#@#@#@ on em.

And if they are all 3rd pair defense man, why would anyone want Keith/Seabrook in a trade for $5/$7m a year? Not replying to you anymore.

You seem to just be a Negative guy on these boards.
