It's Not Just You, USPS Packages Are Massively Delayed Again

An item that shipped out for me on December 2nd
finally arrived yesterday, on January 2nd.

I think the last time that I waited this long
was back when I sent Proof-of-Purchases in to
Kenner for the original Boba Fett action figure.

Actually that wait was probably longer.
That sure felt like the longest 6-8 weeks EVER.

I've had plenty of PWEs delayed as well. Not near as bad as packages, but definitely 10+ days for several items. Still waiting on a few as well.

This gives me hope. I have an incoming valuable package that's been stuck in New Orleans since Dec. 12th. No movement at all on tracking. These are cards I was pulled in a group break. One of those rare group breaks in which you actually hit big cards. If the package never arrives, I'd only be entitled to a refund of what I paid for the break, which unfortunately is only a fraction of the value of the cards. Does anyone else here have stalled packages in New Orleans?

I had something like that too, which is curious. Had a package scanned in Los Angeles midday from IL, and then it was scanned in Baltimore overnight, so about 12-15 hours later. Not entirely sure how that works, but gotta think that scan was somewhat false because no way are things moving through the system that quickly.

It is pretty dependent on the facility/region. I had a few packages fly through this past week that originated in NM, VA, and TX. Stuff in OH and MI, still sitting.

We were in Dallas NYE and I noticed there were only a couple of trailers left waiting. Was in Shreveport Sunday and their processing center was empty. All my in transit packages have finally moved from "departed Shreveport" to at least the nearest main city to the delivery point.

Getting super nervous about a $4,500 package that I mailed out December 14th. Left the post office that day and no updates since then. I really hope I don't have to go through insurance, even though I have proof of value I'm sure they would fight me on it.

Should have mailed by FedEx or UPS. I sold a $8,600 card, and asked the buyer his preference. I told him I am not keen with USPS, so he said UPS. No problem - it was delivered in three days.

I should have. UPS quoted me over $250 to ship this package w/ insurance but it was only $120 with USPS. I don't use Fedex since max amount to insure collectibles is $1,000 (unless that has changed recently).

I just received a Christmas card today from my daughter. She mailed it on Nov. 27th. She is 10 a minute drive from us (or less same town) and have been over to see us 5 times since she mailed it. (weekly welfare check)

We have had 3 Christmas cards come in this week all postmarked prior to December 15th

My mother in law also mailed me a B-day card back on Halloween I got it the day before Thanksgiving.

It's either Linthicum or Hyattsville that are sooo backed up. Just got another Ebay case today. My 4th so far (2 were already delivered and dropped by Ebay)

Clerk told me today that the system is backing up again. People are getting stimulus checks and ordering online.

It seems like both for me. 1 package sitting since December 24th, and plenty of others between then and now...

There's Baltimore, Greenville, Champaign, Phoenix, literally every PO in MI all causing me problems. Seems any package routed elsewhere is delivered quickly

It is certainly happening again. These facilities I would guess are also overwhelmed with returns etc. There have been lines out of the door at local post offices, UPS Stores, and FedEx. Its absurd.

I had a package I dropped off in November never update tracking until just yesterday. I felt bad so I refunded the buyer and chalked up the package as lost about a week ago. Buyer emailed today and said the tracking is now updated and the cards are moving through the mail suddenly. They also want to pay me back once the items arrive, shocking I know.

My question is what is the best way for the buyer to pay me after I already refunded them? I dont like sending payment information through the ebay messages as it gets flagged. Any suggestions?

If you are in MP, I would set up a new item priced much higher than it should and have them make an offer then just mark it as shipped after they pay. Or you can send an invoice through Paypal.

Write down your information on a piece of paper or take a screen shot of it and send it to them. Or you can do what was mentioned in the reply before mine.
