I just love it that they are still talking about this kid even when his team sucks.

Colts - I just don't see this team sustaining success with the glaring hole at QB. I don't see how they can fill that spot with what is available and obviously Rivers isn't the long term answer given his age.

Titans - I always worry about teams that spend big money on a running back. To me it is one of the least important positions on the field and when teams spend on that position they are rarely good enough to be considered a serious contender. Tanihill is not good enough to carry the team when Henry moves on or ages.

Texans - Will always have the best QB in the division which to me means they will always be competitive. It is hard to imagine them having a team quite as bad as what they rolled out there this year and I would expect them to have a decent roster around Watson at some point over the next 10 years.

Jags - the Jags with Lawrence may be the biggest threat in a couple years, more so than Indy and Ten. I am not as high on Trevor as others, but it wouldn't shock me if he came in and lived up to the hype. He is a big wild card that could change things the most imo.

All in all, I always believe good QB play can elevate an entire team. My biggest concern is who they bring in as the next coach, as even the best QBs can get smothered in a bad system/organization. I think he is worth a flyer for the time being but if it looks like they will end up going the way of the coaching carousel it may be time to cut bait. 2017 wax is probably the best way to get exposure to Watson, but most people are likely already priced out of that.
What?

They are the 3rd worst team in football this year.

Seven of their losses this year were by one score or less. I'd say they were competitive in those games.

Which QB in that division would you take over Watson?

Correct, they didn’t lose a single game in the division be more than 1 score. With Watson at QB I tend to think they will always be competitive within the division.

Edit: to dive further into this, they took ten to overtime and lost both games to Indy with fumbles at the goal line on their last drive of the game. Crazy to think about when you think about the roster deficiencies.

None... But that's not the point.

They were not a competitive team this year.

Unless you consider every team but the Jets and Jags competitive.

You can play this many ways. How many games this year did the Chiefs win by one score or less? I checked: it was 9. In the division: 4 out of 5 with the 6th game this weekend.

I like Watson, but right now, there are other people I'd rather invest in. That situation could change in the future, but I don't see it happening soon.

To those getting in now while he's cheap. I hope it works for you!

Much easier to improve on 4 wins than 14

Reread the post. He's a player but, unless you're Dan Marino posting Tecmo Bowl stats, if you're not winning then you're another Tony Romo, Warren Moon, Steve McNair, etc... Solid, if not excellent, QBs that are unfortunately somewhat forgettable in the hobby. I think that team needs a couple years and I don't like parking higher dollar card money that long.

I'd say he's doing ok on that dumpster fire of a team. If they get rid of Watt and free up some money, who knows.

Love it!!! If your a fast flipper go find other QB to invest I’m in it for the long hall

This is the thing....

It's reasonable to believe that Houston gets it's stuff together in the next 5 years.

It's also reasonable to believe that there will be some appreciation between now and the start of next season hype.

My only issue, is that there is also reason to believe that Brady and Mahomes stuff that is drying up will keep rising up with less risk and more upside.

If you're a collector of Watson, he's probably in a good place where you can have a lot of fun with him. As someone with an eye on investment as well as collecting, it'd buy certain Watson cards if I had an endless supply of money... but I don't, which is why I keep passing.

Gonna finish as the league leader in passing yards with a dumpster fire around him. Houston's gonna have a last place schedule next season.

I don't know how much they can put around him without their top two picks (BOB should never get a job again for that alone) but if they can add some pieces in free agency, they'll have a shot at the playoffs again. He isn't quite Mahomes but he has proven to be an elite QB.

Considering Josh Allen Prizm RCs are selling for $200-300 more than Watson, I'd say he's a very safe investment and has a lot of room to grow.

Had a great year - 12 losses and 8 of them by less than one score.

I love watching him play.

The gap between the two talent-wise isn’t as wide as perceived by most.

I'm hoping people sleep on him during the offseason and his prices simmer down.

I do think he's a great QB, but the team he is on will deeply impact his prices. I don't see the Texans doing anything for a few years.

I wouldn’t be so quick to count them out already for next year. This isn’t the NBA where a rebuild takes 5 years. There is so much parity in the NFL that literally every team has a chance in week 1. This team only had one really bad loss to Chicago. They were competitive in almost every game. But yes, they did go 4-12 and you can’t overlook that. They are in need of an overhaul on defense and I would imagine their new GM will think the same.

3rd worst record in football.

No draft pick in the first 2 rounds.

No salary space.

What does this team do to get remarkably better?

Guess we'll find out who they get for Watt. Might help them or hurt them even more.

Lot of bad luck led to many of those losses. Weird things happen in football. They should definitely win more of those close games next year. It also helps, that they’ll be playing the worst team in the divisions next year

Remarkably better talent wise? Not going to happen next year. My point is that they weren’t getting blown out like most 4-12 teams do. 4-12 teams aren’t that different than 8-8 teams.
