Default Crossing a 2003 Topps Chrome Lebron James BGS 9.5 to PSA

So this technically wasn't a crossover since I cracked a 2003 Topps Chrome LeBron James BGS 9.5 from its slab and sent to PSA as a raw. I purchased the BGS 9.5 back in January for ~$1,500. Just got it back from PSA via a 5-day submission and luckily got a Gem Mint 10! Here's a link to my YouTube video where I recap my other PSA returns and go over the story of the Lebron in more detail: https://youtu.be/fPOdG_1BI5A

Congrats. Takes guts! If you had sent in case, you wouldn't have got a 10.
Can i ask if the LeBron was a True Gem + ? What were the sub grades?

Thanks! Sub grades were 9 centering (very harsh), 9.5 edges, 9.5 corners, 10 surface. I cover pretty good detail in the video

Baller move and congrats to you.

I'm just shocked that's a 10 because it looks off center both ways even without measuring. I guess that's one of the joys of spinning the grading roulette wheel.

Congrats! How do you find out the sub grades when the slab didn't have it on there?

I’m on the fence with a couple SGC mint LBJ rookies, one of them the chrome. Congrats and you might have influenced me to take the plunge of cracking

Just send in the graded card and ask for a minimum PSA 10. Worse case scenario is you pay graded fee but get card back in slab. Worth a gamble.

Congrats on the grades! Did you do a 10-day order? Must have been pretty quick to get the bowmans back already.

That's the way to do it. Hard to deny, even subconsciously, when a grader looks at a competing slab. Solid crossover. BGS is still a great grader no matter what the PSA pumper climate is stating now.

But the basketball section says you should cross your BGS 9.5’s to PSA 9’s because they’re worth more that way. Lol.

The PSA pumpers are passionate, I’ll give them that.

I disagree...that t/b centering is for sure 9 worthy...kinda surprised PSA gave it a 10, even tho they are a little easier on centering than BGS...just figured with a high dollar card they would give it a 9

big balls move. I actually have hope now for my SGC 98!

did you give it a quick surface wipe down after cracking and resubbing or just left it as is?
