Do you have any evidence to support this assertion?

My carrier and the workers at my local post office are some of the hardest working and nicest people I know.

I sent a package Friday first class from MN to CA and USPS is delivering today.

I also bought a card on Thursday and it was delivered today.

Sounds like they're following the example of their bosses in Congress

I have a card I ordered through ebay that the USPS had in possession on November 25th.

It has still not arrived.

The location of the sender is less than 700 miles away.

Hasn't changed my buying so much, but it has changed my selling. I lost out on a $100 card because of it.

I sold the card to the buyer and shipped the day he paid. On the day it was supposed to arrive, it showed still in transit. He opened a case, and I messaged explaining the USPS situation and asked him to give it more time. No response.

Sent another PM 2 days later with no response. On the day he could escalate it, he did. Sent PM, no response. eBay closed the case, sided in his favor and issued a refund. 2 days later, he got the card. I sent a message. No response. Now has card and money. And there's nothing i can do about it because he never once responded to any of my PMs. It really pisses me off.

I have a $200 box of Brooklyn Collection sitting in Detroit for the last 7-8 days. I don’t fault the seller but if I don’t get it by Jan 1st I may look for the refund. My luck the 1/1 Trout auto is in that box.
Now when I search eBay I search by location. The closer to NY makes me feel better. Those Midwest hubs are all having issues.
Be Well,
Vinny
UPDATE: of course as soon as I complain, it moves to White Plains, NY nearby.

Why would you look for a refund? Seems kinda messed up to do to the seller. Just deal with it and wait like everyone else.

i'm glad i started a thread that brought so much joy.

I have to remind myself sometimes what a logistical miracle the post office usually is.

I can send a thing from one side of the country to the other for less than the price of a soda can, and it gets there with 99.999% regularity within 4-5 days.

e-commerce is absolutely crushing the PO, as is the added amount of holiday mail due to folks staying home.

Thankfully none of the cards I bought are life-saving medication. I do feel for the folks who sent out high dollar cards. Can't be a fun place to be right now.

Sounds like a good opportunity to go after eBay legally.

Some postal worker was nice enough to open a card my parents sent my Stepdaughter for Christmas and remove the $25 cash that was inside.

Uh, have you called eBay? You should have done that as soon as he opened the case and didn’t respond, and certainly when he escalated.

Upper NW seems OK.

Seems like all of Cali & Midwest hubs are struggling. Everything I ship goes through Oak Creek, WI. The last 3 weeks it's been almost routinely a week from the time it gets there to the time it leaves there.

My CSB orders that shipped Dec 8 & 15 from Rocklin, CA are...still in Rocklin, according to tracking.

The 4-5 of my eBay items I sold that went to Cali also delayed for about a week once they got there.

I just had a guy email me on ebay stating he hasn't received his card (Shipped USPS with tracking on 4 Dec, last scan on 9 Dec). While I was responding to this email "Where is my item and how come it hasn't been delivered yet please help me track it or make a claim is lost or going in circles at this point please let me know if you get it back or what we should do?" He opened a case.

Then he responded back wanting me to tell him he'd have it by Christmas which of course I couldn't do. I tried explaining the PO situation to which he replied "I sure hope so and I am sure you do as well thanks for not caring or giving a hood you grinch"

So much fun!!

Need to appeal the decision.

I’m not against waiting but have a limited budget for Xmas and it could have been lost for all I know. Jan 1st seemed like a good cutoff.
Point is moot since it seems to have moved moments after I posted. (We) I am spoiled by pre-COVID times when things showed up so quickly.

Ugh, buyer opened a case on Saturday 10 days after purchase on a $200 card sent priority mail, and this was after contacting me after 6 days telling me the package didn’t arrive on time. I politely explain that USPS is overwhelmed, give it some time and it should show up. Well, it shows delivered today, I updated the case to say as much this afternoon. We’ll see if this guy is a huge d1ck or not and closes the case himself or will I have to get eBay to do it (my money is on eBay, and then he’ll request a refund). Oh, and eBay put a hold on the $200 so my eBay withdrawal this Monday was $0, merry f$&cking Christmas

Wow, I truly hope you don’t have less than 14 days as your timeframe to request a refund or file a claim. That’s a d1ck move.

Here is the exact wording from eBay about what should be done.

If your item arrives after you've received a refund
It's possible that your item may still arrive after you've been issued a refund. If this happens, you should get in touch with the seller and try to reach an agreement on what to do next. You can choose to either:
  • Return the item and keep the refund
  • Keep the item and arrange to reimburse the seller

From the wording here eBay doesn't want to deal with it anymore after they give a refund. The word "should" could mean that you don't have to do anything and get to keep the card. I would contact eBay and talk to someone saying that the buyer received the card and is not satisfying the agreement as posted in the eBay information given on the website. I would pressure eBay on their information they posted about what is expected from the buyer. I would also file a complaint on the BBB.org. eBay has responded to things before and it would be a good place to pressure them more on their stated policies.
