Not a fan of today's Jackie.

The Thomas is real nice, I like that a lot.
Love to know your Jeter rankings.....and did you just purchase Jeter cards?

Default Topps Project 2020 is the worst product since 1991 Fleer

Yes, I will rank them, that will be fun, and DJ is my PC so it was actually very easy to stay focused there. I’ve shared these pictures before, but will share again for fun. The third frame will be the P2020 that I napkin-ed out and got some good feedback on.

^Before the 93 Topps picture I had all of these as part of the set. Then I ran into some tax goofs, built a pool, and replaced the stairs, so these helped white some of those expenses.

Love the Siff Jackie. Perfect bookend to the Brett. Yes its violent, but to call him white is missing the point. His skin is kind of a pebbled texture. It definitely brings something out in me, something uncomfortable. It's like he had tough skin to do what he did. To be who he was. But there was a cost, hence the expression and the red outline. Beautiful.

If you loved his Ripken, you'll love his Jackie. Pretty similar technique, just with an added cap and then a mini portrait and words for the background.

I'm not so sure about that....Siff Ripken remains Top 5 for me...his Jackie isn't comparable to Ripken, imo.

The writing along the stop of the Jeter takes me right to 1996 Leaf Signature.

Tongue-in-cheek. The techniques for the main image are extremely similar, but I don't actually expect people to like both or anything. People will carry expectations and biases that will be different for each player and each artist. It would be a foolish to say if you liked A, you should like (or dislike) B with any kind of serious intent.

Very nice! Jeter rookies and 1993 in general were the last years I collected until Project 2020. Sent the rookies I had off to PSA just recently and have dived back in collecting the many cards I missed over the years.

That Siff Jackie is perfect to me. Love the debate here... and I respect the opposite takes.

I think it's stretch (for me) that the literal white paint used in the card, is somehow insensitive with regards to Jackie being Black. That said I am not Black so I could easily be missing something.

It's a cool, violent, surprising piece that I enjoy. I can't stop staring.

I like the Jackie, I just wish the words to the left stopped at "the 1st ever". I don't like the words with the hearts, the hearts in the bat say the words for me personally. It's a lot to process at first, but my eyes settle on the red drawing/outline of Jackie and the hearts. It's nice once I get past the initial punch. It makes me emotional in a calming way in the end once I settle in on the red outline. Some of his cards can be jarring and never find a calm, this one I find it. It's beautiful in my eyes. I'm happy. Today is a good day.

Somebody above mentioned it looking like granite...upon further reflection, I would agree. It's not white, IMO.

This is so true! I would say however from this project Ermsy and his style has carried over from card to card as far as like this like that or vice versa. And maybe even Fucci and Shore? Something about the cartoon, whimsical look easier to have the same feel for (like or dislike)?
