Well this thread aged well Tua is at 653 1/1s so far and notorious 1/1 sets like NT and Plates and Patches havn't released yet. 20 years ago the AVG 1st round rookie premier pick had 15 1/1s. Mahomes in 2017 had 753 This year will we see someone hit 1k 1/1s.

Generic 1/1s don't do much for me.

Yet, there are still some 1/1s that matter.

NT 1/1, Prizm 1/1, Select. I'd say most base 1/1s from recognizable brands still matter. But so much other crap is watering things down. It's now a challenge to try to see which 1/1s will matter and which are just more junk.

1/1s just seem so counter-intuitive to the general concept of sports cards.

Only one person gets the 1/1 card... and literally everyone else on the planet is absolutely alienated from the chance to ever complete that set.

This is what passes for fun these days?

As time goes on collectors will determine the 1/1s that matter, the same they determine which Prizm parallels matter.

Someone probably made this complaint to panini so we got multiple rainbows and 1/1s in the same sets now. Either that or they thought that having a 45 card rainbow (yes that is literally how big a 2020 prizm rainbow is) in Prizm will keep you so busy you won't care as much about the 1/1.

Same holds true for 1/1s. 1000 RC 1/1s doesn’t hurt the value of contenders champions tickets, or NT rpa logo or prizm black.

Beckett.com .. login, search a player, sort by print run, have it set to 100 cards per page. Then make the crying jordan face as you flip through the crazy amount of 1/1s. If you want just the rookie year you put the year infront of the players name before search.

From an investment standpoint the price /1 cards are watered down due to the sheer number of them.

However, with the Beckham example of 526 /1 cards there still is demand. How many people will desire a /1 card. I am guessing more than 526.

Football is the only sport I don't have a 1/1.

I have a basketball plate I bought forever ago, then I pulled another basketball from 13 Hoops.

Then one from 17 Topps baseball I pulled.
