Just curious do these numbers include mail in voting or are those results still currently unknown? Also looks like a big key here is going to be which way do the independents vote. In addition which party defects more is also going to be a factor. What percent of the Democrats voted for Trump and what percentage of Republicans voted for Biden?

Not seeing much significant movement in polls the last couple of days and unlike 2016 Trump has failed to close the gap on General election polls. Overall Biden has polled remarkable consistent for a long period of time. I do not see the polls being worse than 2016...which means it looks like Biden has this fairly easily.

MI,PA, WI all look good for Biden. NC is leaning blue with the young voter turnout which is Independent and favors D's by a significant amount when under 30. I think the under 30 turnout is going to be surprisingly significant and good for Biden across the board and impact where Independents lean.

(I could be wrong but I believe they calculated deaths different from the annual Flu and how they do for Covid do to political/financial reasons, is there a difference anymore?).

Did you go around wearing masks, social distancing, shutting down businesses, ect last year? If not, why? 60,000 preventable deaths is a lot, its not Covid but its a lot and preventable.
While I personally disagree with the premise here, it is at least a coherent response that puts forth an argument. That alone makes it superior to the nonsensical drivel spewed by another poster (who I shall not name, but his initials are NC, hehe).

I see the major difference here though as being the vaccine. A flu vaccine allows a person to protect themselves if they wish from the risk of infected people in their vicinity as they go about their business. Short of a hazmat suit, there is no such protection from Covid, since as we have previously established, masks protect others, not the wearer. I see the personal choice aspect of a flu vaccine as sufficient prevention for those that want it.

Since no such prevention exists for Covid, we must rely on our neighbors to protect us.

I shall take that as a compliment and offer my thanks.

I'd like to think that the people that don't fit neatly into some little box are the more interesting folks. It scares me how many people seem to follow straight down the line on every single issue with their party.

Why is anyone against having an ID to vote?

One reason that comes to mind is that IDs are not free. States charge a fee to get them. Forcing a citizen to pay for the right to vote is kinda not cool. What about homeless people trying to find some food to eat? They don't want to drop $25 for an ID so they can vote, but their vote should count same as ours.

The real reason though is that requiring IDs would help one party by hurting the other. Without that, nobody would be arguing about it.

This is 100% of the early vote; it includes all mail ballots and in person early voting.

The defections you note happen more on the D side every election because a lot of old school legacy Dems actually vote R these days. Why the Dems have a 400,000 registration advantage in North Carolina (and why they had a 700,000 advantage in 2016). Slowly, those D registrations are changing to R.

If people can't see the fraud Fauci is, they can't be helped. Saying there's a perfect storm with people being indoors this winter... THEN WHY THE HELL DID YOU RECOMMEND RESTRICTIONS THROUGHOUT THE SUMMER?! Mind-blowing.

Umm...huh? I'm struggling to connect whatever dots you're offering here.

Fauci has said things are likely to get worse as winter comes. Why do you think that makes him a fraud?

Oh, wait...I get it now. Is it because Herr Trump pulled some totalitarian crap and discredited his opposition?

Heil Trump!!!

You have the right to own a gun, not purchase one.

Then why wasn't he pushing for getting people outside in the summer, when now he is saying being inside will cause more issues?

He was.

He suggested any gatherings should be held outdoors.

The real question is why Trump discredited a top Infectious Disease expert and replaced him with a neuroradiologist that toes the company line.

Interesting data point in Georgia early voting. So far, 93% of the vote total from 2016 has already been cast there. Of those votes, at least 55.1% are from women, 42.9% from men and then 1.9% are from unknown/voters who don't have it on voter file. Even if all the unknown are men, that's still a 10% point gender gap in voter turnout.

True of NC as well.

Pushing for social distancing and limits on mass gatherings is not pushing for getting people outside. His opinion should matter zero. As should the new guy Trump has. Data should rule at this point.

At the end of the day, A LOT of people made mistakes. Which happens when an unknown thing comes. I think it's overall unfair to blame people's actions in March and April. However, seeing people DOUBLE DOWN is an issue. They would rather mess up again, rather than change their mind, admit they were wrong and reverse course.
