Yes, and there are Democrats who don't value differing opinions. It exists across the political spectrum and is a major issue in this country.

Republicans are doing much better than expected. The talk early on was whether or not the Dems would have a 600k edge heading into election day; but that edge through the state will likely be around 150k. Lot more Republicans voted / voting early than anticipated. The polls got this terribly wrong early because most had Republicans voting 50% on election day. That's not anywhere close to reality.

But ... how many show up on election day. The key.

Thanks - admittedly, there's an innumerable amount of factors that goes into my personal process.

The qualities of the individual presenting the opposing viewpoint also play a factor, which quite possibly may be most people's hang-up when deciding whether or to consider an opposing viewpoint and how much value to place on it.

For example - I don't place much value on the opposing viewpoints of extremist-fringe groups, but I do when I know someone is coming from a place of trying to be reasonable, honest, and also willing to listen, etc.

The problem, in 2020, is more than ever we seem to be grouping an increasing number of people in extremist-fringe groups (on all sides) and invalidating opinions because we quickly label them as irrational.

I think this thread is a good example.
