Default Shipping Breaks from Canada

Hey guys,
I wanted to start doing some breaks on either facebook or Instagram however since I am in Canada the shipping costs with tracking is crazy.
Any ideas on how I can limit the shipping costs or is it ok to ship a bubble mailer with no tracking for a break
Thanks

The tracking is for your protecting, if you don't ship with tracking buyer can open item not received case and you automatically lose. So I wouldn't recommend going that route with higher end breaks. If you're breaking lower end boxes it might be worth the risk to not ship with tracking because you won't find people willing to join your breaks if you're charging $10-20 per spot for shipping.

I think you're biggest concern would be people saying package not recieved and filing charge backs.

The answer is to pay the high postage for tracking or be prepared for headaches. Buyers have protection on paypal. With long shipping times, especially across borders, people won't get their cards for a long time. Then they will open claims against you. They might win and then receive the cards for free down the line. Plus have you written language in your breaks to protect yourself? What happens if someone gets a $10,000 card in the break and doesn't get it. Insurance may not cover the full amount. How will you deal with that? By being a breaker you own a business. Do you have a LLC? If not people can sue you and not your breaking company. I know it isn't likely, but you really need to think things that before starting a business.

Ok that helps a lot I definitely need to figure these things out. Do you know of any way to ship cheaper though because at first I'm probably going to be sticking to lower-end product and at that point the shipping could be almost the same price as the spot.

That's just not worth doing out of Canada, you can't compete with people already doing it in US for cheaper

Can confirm shipping with tracking within Canada is at least $12 CAD.

Imagine what kind of a break buyers will be willing to pay $12 shipping.

If you are doing lower end product and shipping, you will lose money. Big breakers from Canada are high end products and usually connected to baseball card shops. With big accounts and large shipping quantities, they get discounts on all their shipping. The Canadian breakers I see ship worldwide. The reason they do this is they can hit international markets which most US breakers hate to ship to. It also isn't that more expensive to ship worldwide than to the US.

If you want to make money the simple answer is you won't. The people that make money off this in Canada get product for cheaper, have discounted shipping, and have a reputation that people trust. Even in the US it would be tough. A lot of breakers also use their large youtube and social media presence to make money as well. So even if they break even on the break, they make money off the youtube views. If you want to have fun and lose money, go ahead! But this is not a way to make money in your situation.

Yeah, I kinda thought that may be the case. My last option would be to drive to the US and ship from there as I live right on the boarder.

Do you understand how customs works? They won't allow this. You might be able to sneak cards across the border, but if you package them up in sealed envelopes that is a big no no.

Is this for money money or just for fun? This seems like a horrible way to make money. Buy product, drive across border, open it there, ship out US orders there with envelopes that you keep in supply at your families house, and then bringing across product back to ship from Canada. Is this worth a few dollars???

Plus think about this. You are operating a business in Canada and shipping from the US. How will you declare US shipping costs on your taxes? You are now an international company This is not a good idea.

Make them pay if they want the cards for tracking 12-17$

Take a look at what they charge to ship a single crappy card across the border.

Crybabies.

Well I love opening cards but of course I want to make a profit so I guess it's just not possible for me to do
