In order to believe the story, we have to believe these things:

Hunter is dumb enough to even have a laptop with evidence that would put him and his father away for life (possibly death), and also dumb enough to drop it off for repairs. He then doesn't pay $85 to get it back.

Some guy at a repair shop can't find a law enforcement officer that is willing to look at evidence that a former VP committed treason and his son committed like 1000 counts of child porn/molestation.

Somehow, Russians come into possession of said laptop. This evidence floats around Moscow for over a year and a half, but only the Russians take it seriously. No Americans care about it.

Biden runs for president, and still neither the Chinese nor Russians do anything with this information. Also, none of the American law enforcement officers remember even seeing it.

The information is not dumped onto the scene, but for whatever reason is strategically leaked out incrementally over a couple weeks while Americans are voting.

For some reason, despite this fantastic, brutal evidence being revealed, neither Joe nor Hunter is arrested. No law enforcement officers at any level or from either party even care about it, even though it would be the biggest collar in the history of Earth.

Hmmm...seems odd. No?

There is a reason FoxNews, the pro-Trump network, initially refused to put this story on the air. Even they couldn't stomach it.

The Chinese and Russians would LOVE Biden to win. There would be no reason for them to try and take him down.

Politicians sell influence. Just look at the Clintons. They made a career out of selling influence. Is it wrong? Yep. Could one potentially go to jail over it? I don't know. Appears unlikely based on Bill and Hillary.

Treason, if we accept the story as true, is questionable. Maybe, maybe not.

Child molestation, possession of child porn, incest, obstruction of justice, and conspiracy to commit most of the above would be why both would go to jail though...forever.

Selling influence isn't even close to the extent of the accusations. Hunter, and by extension Joe, being blackmailed by foreign governments to act in a certain way is pretty serious though. They are being accused of being compromised and extorted by a foreign nation...and allowing it. And even that is likely less serious than the kiddie sex stuff.

These accusations are nothing like what Trump was accused of doing. They are 1000 times worse.

What influence did he sell? As far as I can tell he has not sold himself out to any foreign government. Is Ivanka selling her influence? Eric? Don Jr.? All trying to do deals with hostile foreign entities or government? Nope.

He has been under investigation for 3+ years. Trust me, if there was something there, they would have crucified him over it. $50 million spent and more than a dozen investigators trying to find some wrongdoing. They found nothing.

Joe and Hunter were not being blackmailed. They were the ones selling the influence and are now susceptible to being blackmailed currently. They were not dealing with governments, but major companies within the corrupt countries. How tied those companies are to their governments and what favors were promised and/or delivered will need to be fleshed out. The promises not delivered are what I am worried about. If Joe is elected, we will find out.
