Yes, I also got some hobby cases at $500 and Jumbo cases at $600 from BO at that time. Less than $45 per hobby box... haha those were the days. I still have them. I'm in for the long haul, but also bummed I didn't buy more back then.

HOLY SMOKES, I just saw Bieber US198 PSA10s are selling for $150-160... I knew they were rising, but that's crazy.

So for Soto, Acuna, Bieber, Torres, Meadows, Ohtani etc etc... in PSA10 you should get close to $1k just in base from a box (I know to get all in PSA10 is a very long shot, but still)... then there is still some SSP and parallels to pull.

Crazy times, but these are not done yet...

How does 2018 Topps Chrome fit into this conversation.
ex. Juan Soto; doesn't Topps Chrome have all of these same players as well?
Seems to me that the Hobby Boxes are underpriced currently.

2018 Topps Chrome Update contains the Soto cards. They were retail only so Mega boxes and Value packs. With the value packs you also get pink refractors, so yes the Topps Chrome Update is also still undervalued.

Regular Topps Chrome not as much.

2018 TCU mega boxes are going for $150-170 and the value packs are about $80 each now.

(And the Soto card image stayed the same while they changed the Acuna image... )

Acuna white Jersey is a SSP card, and would you pick it up in a PSA 9 or BGS 9.5. Also, is there a known print run for the white jersey. Thinking of moving some PSA 10 Topps Chrome and a bat down BGS 9.5 gem+ and cash for one. Is it worth it to do a deal for the white jersey?

I’m not familiar with all the $ involved with those cards but in the world of 2018 Acuna cards it’s a big one.

Thank you. Does anyone know the pop count of the white jersey card for Acuna. Also, would it make sense to sell a BGS 9.5 bat down gem+, a raw pack pulled bat down, and cash to get a PSA 9/BGS 9.5 white jersey? Thank you.

It looks like hobby boxes are selling at $650-$700 and jumbo boxes are $800-$900.

Does unopened product tend to get cheaper during the off-season?

2018 Update won't. 2020 crap will.

Agree with this.

Also, hobby boxes at $650 is a slight decrease from the regular season and a pretty good buy at that price.

They’re down about 10% from the regular season spike. Not much by off-season standards, and i wouldn’t expect to see them drop below $600 hobby $750 jumbo.

I would, however, expect them to rise back up in springtime. An early projection would be $800 hobby, $1000 jumbo sometime in February/March.

Even if half the boxes sold get opened, the available unopened product is dwindling at a rapid rate.

I have some set back and might buy some to break. For best bang for the buck what would you buy?

Blasters are $125 for 100 cards
Hobby boxes are $650 for 360 cards
Jumbos are around $900 for 500 cards or about less than $2 a card.

Seems per card The blasters are the best bet, but which ones will net the best pulls on average. For $650 would you buy one hobby box or 5 blasters?

Well in a hobby box you'll probably get 1 Acuna, 1 Soto, etc. If you buy blasters you could get multiple or none.

Fun times.

If that is the case why not just buy the Acuna and Soto cards and save $$. My other question is which version would net the best chance at SP and SSP’s - blaster, hobby, or jumbo. Thank you.

I wouldn't buy loose retail. Too much risk for damage. The 8 pack hangers are the best value out there if you're okay giving up the chance at a black or clear. Otherwise I'd rip hobby. As far as base goes, 5 hangers = 1 hobby box.

Thank you. Not buying loose retail and good advice. Thinking of adding another 2 hobby boxes or 10 blasters to my current stash. How would you do it.

Blasters no question. 5 Blasters yields 5 Golds and 5 Rainbow Foils. A hobby box yields about 3.5 of each

It’s rare to say but absolutely true on blasters being the best value at current pricing.
I had 6 cases up until this time last year.

Need a little guidance here fellas. Thinking about busting one of my long stashed jumbo boxes. Based on what i paid for it, so long as i hit 1.5 each of the base rookies, I’ll break even. Bust one, or hold it?
