To add to this conversation since it involves the same card.. I am confused on this listing states in the description that it isn't real. How are you able to tell?

Looks to be some paper loss on the front...might have been stuck flat to another card or something. Corner wear looks normal considering its age and that it probably was a card that didn't get handled or moved around too much. As far as legitimacy goes, though, I'm sure the back would be able to tell a much better story.

IT SAYS IT IS FAKE. My momma didnt raise any stupid babies, but if you buy a fake diamond, it's probably fake!

I believe it's real, it has the snowy image that's common to 57s.

At least I say that without seeing the back or anything closer

I was just curious if anyone could point out how to tell this was fake but clearly that was a stupid question so my apologies, I will just move on. Glad you got your question answered OP as I love this card!

I wasn’t calling you stupid. The guy posted like he was answering the first person but then mentions yours where it says it’s fake. He started it by saying his momma didn’t raise any stupid babies, so I was pointing out that he was talking to two different people. I have no idea how to tell the one you posted is fake. I’m not into vintage as much anymore. Sorry for the confusion.

Just FYI, a lot of the more knowledgeable people will tell you if it’s fake but won’t necessarily provide specifics because they don’t want to provide more info to the persons making the fakes.

Looks real (photo in first post). '57 commonly have print snow (white specs / missing ink on the dark areas) and they're often off-center. That one looks to have a wrinkle on the back, at the bottom border, between "PRINTED" and "IN U.S.A."

The fake, aged reprints often have excessive edge damage in unusual spots, inconsistent corner wear, scuffs/scratches on the surface, and even discoloring like they were stained at one spot.

Thanks, everyone. What would be a fair price to pay for that?

I'm so confused. The description literally says it's fake/filler. What am I missing here? It's a reasonably well done faux-aged reprint and nothing more.

Someone posted after my original. The one I'm getting is not the Ebay listing.

Sorry about the confusion in your thread Mr. Carter.
I should have been more clear in my first post it appears.
