Army Reserve now investigating the affair of Cunningham. If done while on active duty, it's a criminal offense and can be punished by up to a year in prison w/ a dishonorable discharge.

He can't officially resign from the ticket even if he wanted to this late in the process but this is a big boon for the NC GOP.

Turn off the Facebook, turn off the news, spend some time with your family, and all of this stuff becomes less important. It's pretty crazy and if you don't follow along and look at the evidence and watch the testimonies it does sound like some wild conspiracy theory. I'm not even sure Durham wants everything out in the open as the can of worms may be too big to open. If everything that's happened were to be spelled out to the American people I'd say the Trump haters would refuse to believe it anyway, but anyone who isn't in the get rid of Trump at all costs group would probably lose any confidence they had left in our highest institutions of government.

There's a serious disconnect here.

What Ratcliffe has released is what amounts to be little more than a Russian misinformation narrative. A narrative that no U.S. (regardless of party) agency or committee has been able to verify, nor any foreign intelligence agency. A narrative that was seemingly brushed side as irrelevant for years, only unearthed and declassified and unredacted to aid President Trump.

This was not "new" information, committees had this story (Republican led committees as well) and they all did the same with it. Nothing. Ask yourself "why?"

All US and foreign intelligence agencies have come to what amounts to the exact same conclusion, Russia had a well-crafted mis/disinformation campaign with the goal of affecting the 2016 U.S. Presidential Election. Nothing seems to indicate that this story was anything different.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but Durham hasn't given this story credence, nor has Barr. Nor has anyone verified this story that was released.

Can someone make a good case for Trump actually wanting to win this election?

The spat with Pelosi and pushing talks of another stimulus off until after the election just seems like political suicide to me.

I need someone to make a case because it's really hard for me to look past my bias right now. I've always believed that Trump never actually intended to win in 2016 and he launched his campaign more so as an opportunity to air some political grudges and to cultivate an audience for a new Trump news/media network. And right now I'm trying not to interpret everything as a self-fulling prophecy.

It just feels like he wants to spin everything up so that he can lose, claim fraud, take it to the Supreme Court, muddy the water, head back to the comforts of Trump Tower, and have enough dirt on everyone (real or not) to fill scripts and tweets for the rest of his natural life.

I can’t really make a case for it, but I don’t think he wants to be President. And I know he doesn’t want to lose the election. The stimulus talks are bizarre. He walked away from the table, then walked back. Then Meadows said the negotiations were off again, all in little more than 12 hours.
