Pro-tip: The amazing thing about Blowout is that it's so big and active that you never really have to respond to idiots.

Nothing signals "new guy" on the board faster than someone taking something personally. If I had a dollar for every time someone made fun of me here, I could actually buy some Mahomes cards.

If you absolutely feel like you need to reply, just drop a vaguely dismissive statement followed by a " " and move on.

All very cool stuff.

We've got some guys on the board with 30+ years of experience on the sports side of things and guys with 30+ years of experience on the hobby side of things. When they come together, it produces some really great commentary for the community.

Look forward to hearing some specific breakdowns from you...

...That said, it would probably help a lot if you included what exactly you're seeing and what specific injury you think is at play here. Otherwise there's nothing for anyone to evaluate and consider.

I could see some rotator cuff inflammation flaring up, but unless Mahomes has some kind of ligamentary laxness condition (allowing the extra range of motion necessary for whipping fastballs and possibly contributing to his dislocated knee), I haven't seen anything hinting at a substantial injury.

Was just about to post something similar. I'm not saying you're wrong OP, but you're writing some essays over here without any substance.

A lot of speculation, but I'd be curious to hear some specifics.

Mahomes struggled last night for sure, but I attribute that more to Belichick than anything else. I haven't seen anything from him that indicates he's nursing an injury, he didn't seem to have a problem with the deep ball last week.

So because the GCOAT held him down for three quarters means he is now hurt?

Kermit Mahomie has ALWAYS sucked for at least a half against Belichick...

Also, I took flag football intramurals in college so I know what I see out there.

The reason I prefaced my post above with the blurb about my experience in the game isnt some attempt to brag and I thought I’d made that clear...the fact of the matter is that I spent years being trained to watch the game from a quarterbacks perspective and interpret whatever the tape showed, and it’s different from learning to watch on your couch. I’m not saying that I’m somehow better at watching football than anyone else, or anything like that, I’m just saying it’s different. I’m aware that I come off as condescending to some when i say that stuff, but football is a big part of what I’ve done thus far in my life and it’s too relevant to not mention. I literally spent at least 10 to 15 hours (and often far more than that) per week on film study starting at age 13, and I didn’t stop till just before I turned 23. My offensive coordinator as a freshman wound up as a head coach in the NFL for a period of time, and he was who taught me the most of anyone about how to digest game tape. I still pay every fall to make sure I get the all-22 game tapes from around the league, partly because I still have a couple former teammates and rivals that stuck around in pro ball but also because it is the way I feel I get the most out of whats happening on the field. Im explaining all of this because I’m hoping it makes it clear I’m not just talking out of my rectum here or speculating, the tape clearly shows that somethings not right.

I think your on to something. It could just be bad mechanics or something worse. But I’m not watching an MVP. At least through 4 games of the season.

Ok so what's interesting about this thread is that I kind of thought the same thing in all seriousness.

He has something round and taped to his arm. It was covered by the tight underlayer...and I spotted it multiple times.

I'll see if I can find a picture...

EDIT: Maybe I'm going crazy...

He does have, if I recall correctly now, 6 of the easiest interceptions a defense would ever get dropped/missed so far. Plus the in the grasp whistle was also an INT more so than a fumble last night imo. That all seems fishy. Funny watching your QB get amazing picks made on their throws, then watching someone else’s easy ones get repeatedly dropped. Something is off. Maybe it’s personal, maybe physical. Great players have down years ALL THE TIME. His down year is still great (but should have a lot of INT).

What if Mahomes is keeping the Chiefs in the dark about this injury, thinking it's something that is minor and he can play through?

So what’s more likely?

This random guy on BO can detect arm injuries that the Chiefs can’t?

Or this random guy on BO doesn’t know what he’s talking about?

If Mahomes has anything wrong with him, it’s minor. The usual stuff that every pro football player deals with. Not ground breaking and not thread worthy.

For anybody wondering, through 4 games here is his performance:

Completion %: 67.3% -Career High
QB Rating: 114.1 -Career High
QBR: 89.0 -Career High
TD/INT Ratio: 11:0 -Career High

Yard/Game: 284 vs 288 last year
TD/Game: 2.75 vs 1.86 last year

On pace to finish the season with 4,536 yards, 44 TDs and 0 Ints.

The only thing that I see that could really support this is Yards/Attempt, which was at 7.6 compared to 8.3 last year and 8.8 in 2018.... However....

Over the first 4 games of the season, his Yards/Attempt his been trending upwards, with games 1-4 beings:
1. 6.6
2. 6.4
3. 9.2
4. 8.1

Which looks to me like with the lack of a preseason, the team has eased in the offense taking less downfield shots and has started to open up since.

Man, if some thing is wrong A: the numbers don't show it, and B: what is the world is this guy like if it isn't.

There were at least two dropped INTs last night by the Pats.

Not trying to hijack this thread, but I have to ask. How does one become a part of the "Knights of the Keyboard"?
Is there an open application process, or a silent selection, similar to the Masonic lodges?
Looking to become a member of an illustrious internet organization, and KOTK seems like the obvious choice.
Thanks in Advance
