I didn't turn it in to a LeBron thread.

LeBron was mentioned way early. In a Kyrie thread mind you.

I'm sorry Kyrie's opinions of himself hurt you guys so deeply.
We'll go back in time to game 7 and watch LeBron clang a 3 instead of Kyrie splashing one.

God bless

Kyrie is an idiot and this is direct shade at Lebron and any other teammates he has played with to this point. He lives in his own world and will probably destroy the Nets.

You sure like to harp on one singular shot... when dudes have been playing for almost 2 decades in LeBron’s case... and a decade for Kyrie...

It’s kind of creepy

It’s almost like you don’t know how to read the quote he said

It’s 100% shade at LeBron

Well 99.9% if you’re the one weirdo that doesn’t get it

I’m not getting into the banter that is going back and forth by both sides. It’s never ending and opinions will not be changed.

Dante Exum
Ante Zizic
Collin Sexton
Larry Nance Jr
Matthew Dellavedova
Andre Drummond
Dylan Windler
3 second rounders

Just interesting to look back
i appreciate the efforts here but still not worth kyrie. drummond is already on a downward spiral, nance plain sucks, sexton is decent a 6th man at best. the rest is ehhh. if kyrie gets his head on straight and just plays ball he is a legit top 10 player which i see him doing. now if we got kemba walker for him, im all in!

this is pretty accurate as the people who didnt watch cleveland on a nightly basis didnt see the moves and handling skills. the english he puts on those off balanced layups is just unreal, he has so much talent.

Are there many people who are still Kyrie fans?
What's the appeal at this point? That he's odd and has a good shoe line?

Honest question.

honest answer, he was a great player for the cavs. his ft shooting and his driving ability is off the charts. he was fun to watch and didnt go full tard until the flat earth comments. im surprised a message board full of men dont get what happened in cle....bron bron and kyrie had the same side piece. their beef is over a woman i can about guarantee that. kyrie hasnt been the same since, this wasnt a i want my own team problem as portrayed in the story they gave to the media.

This is the type of response Kyrie himself would give.

Very peculiar.

Lol

Anyway, he was an absolute disgrace in Boston, showing no leadership qualities and indirectly sabotaging the growth of the Celtics young core.

Maybe he was also in an entanglement with Jaylen Browns 'sidepiece.'

What’s being overlooked in this thread is that KD actually agreed with Kyrie. Great mental health tandem they have in Brooklyn.

I'm a KD fan, and I'm a fan of Kyrie's pure skill as a basketball technician. Like another user said, Kyrie's skill plus Chauncey Billup's mentality the guy would have had top 20 all time potential. 100% agree with that.

But I'm willing to bet the combo of these two sensitive headcases is going to go nuclear at some point. KD coming back from tough injury, Kyrie being injury prone and prob rubbing teammates wrong way, I have a hard time seeing this team meeting expectations. And the pressure cooker will increase if they don't have strong success, which is where I can see things devolving.

And regarding track records. What has Kyrie ever accomplished without Lebron? At least KD had some deep playoff runs with his OKC squads. Kyrie can be great so long as he has a strong #1 and accepts the secondary role.

It's been known for a while that KD is a 'mental midget'...how anyone thinks he's a top 20 all-timer after joining a 73-win-team and enjoying wide open shots thanks to unprecedented spacing due to Curry's gravity is beyond me.

Amazing scoring machine yes, possibly even slots into Top 30-35 all-time. But not really a 'leader' and I'd bet he doesn't win another championship [not as the #1]...I could see him as a 'hired gun' type who joins another couple really good teams to get them over the hump.

I can see this locker room becoming Kyrie/KD and the others. Maybe you get 1 or 2 worshippers/hanger ons to float to KD side. As others mentioned, the coach is going to have to deal with headaches all season long. Those two are super talented though and will get their fair share of wins just based on that. Assuming KD comes back to form. He is still unguardable at times.

You've been harping on Lebron's game winners being deluded bc some of the games were tied....but here you are giving Kyrie all the credit in the world for a game tied game winner.

If we are talking about late game shots what about the 3 lebron made to tie the game, was he a MFer who could make the shot on that one?

Per a teammate on the team (Richard Jefferson) - the only reason that shot went to Kyrie was b/c curry was on him and they thought he was the weakest defensive link. Lebron couldn't take that shot b/c GSW would not leave curry on Lebron 1v1 - would have been a double off the screen as they had done the majority of the game

He's way higher than top 30-35 obviously.

I think it depends on the expectations. Mine are probably pretty low compared to most. I see them as a second round team next year most likely unless they make some moves.

People expecting this team to contend for a title next year are not thinking very realistically unless they make some moves.

They are a failure if they can’t contend for a title in a weak East next year.

Yeah, your expectations sound fair. But they will get torn down for not getting to at least ECF, I think a lot of people are hoping they fail and chomping at the bit to lay into them the minute things seem to devolve. Personally I enjoy Durant and am rooting for him to make a great recovery and have a few more deep playoff runs. But I think East has some very strong top teams that are better, Heat, Celtics, 76ers. Although 76ers are a little hard to predict... I'm curious to see how Doc works out in Philly.
