If my numbers are right, last week was the lowest full week total Print Run with a Mike Trout included. The Ermsy Trout was in a three day week.

It's nice to be important,
but it's more important to be nice.

Is there a backstory to the Trout card that I don't know?

Looking back, it's pretty clear I was an idiot in my late teens and early twenties. I can only imagine how unbearable I would have been with fame and/or money.

Cover of SI at 16 back when cover of SI actually meant something. Plus it was him who came into the league being dubbed the chosen one, mlb's lebron, the next big thing, not Trout. All said, if Harper plays out 10 more years and assuming there's a DH in the NL which seems likely, he could very well compile enough stats to make HOF.

I can't get past the pineapple head on Trout. It looks like he's just had his top cut.

The opinions of the cards are fine. The cards are great or horrible as individual contributions. That isn't my point. My point for both is they have nothing to do with the original card they are supposedly re-imagining. As I had said prior, why even bother with that Frank Thomas. Why not put this guy in the set.

Shore had posted these two photos leading up to his card is all I know:

We need Blake to get Shore on his youtube channel and get to the bottom of this.

I can see why the Frank Thomas collectors would be annoyed. His cards have all stayed true to the original card. Got Rochester before he went rogue. Got Cartoon staying true to the card. And had Shore before he went off the script too.

Oldmanalan and Vides are just lazy IMO. Shore’s not taking himself seriously, and having fun with it. I get a lot of people don’t like it but a lot of people do

I think Harper may have taken a peak at this thread and gotten angry, just hit a solo shot lol.

That's all well and fine but the inspiration is kind of oddball. I mean, Trout's hair? If I wanted hairstyling I'd go to instagram.

I hate everything this Shore Trout stands for, it is not an interpretation of Trout's US175 RC, it's an interpretation of Trout.

That being said, I can stomach this one, as it is very fun.

And if this card was truly going to be about hair, why not give Harper at least some of his trademark scruff, or the full blown beard? If it wasn't for the number 34 that looks more like Trea Turner giving him a buzz

How about a third option... it's just strange.

I think the fact that it is Trout makes a difference too. He doesn't need a friend to spice up his card. Doing that with Gooden and Frank Thomas is one thing, but Trout needs no extra boost
