I just think it's crazy that NOTHING lingers anymore..I mean Score football was at every Wal Mart FOREVER (in fact when Score 2020 first came out, you could find 2018, 2019 AND 2020 at Walmart easily) but now? Nothing...nothing stays on the shelf. Prestige, Score, Elite, Topps Flagship Baseball, Optic Baseball, nothing. Every Wal Mart and Target in our town is bare. Unless you catch the initial stocking, by the next day nothing will be left but Upper Deck Hockey, Topps Baseball Stickers, and Panini NBA Stickers. It's just insane to me.

While it sucks to not find stuff easily right now, availability will get better over time. The fact that lower tier products are selling out, is a testament to the strength of the hobby. Sure some of that is buying by flippers, but those flippers learn real quick that alot of items are not profitable flips. I was pleasantly surprised at how many real collectors I have run into at Targets recently. Sure there are flippers too, but lots of guys buying retail are new collectors or are coming back into the hobby now that they are older and have kids and it provides a form of entertainment. Plus with not many hobby shops around and the bots buying up everything online, retail is the only place many have to go to buy packs to open. Many of them are happy to just to be able to buy stuff like Allen and Ginter or Fire or Archives to open and are not necessarily looking to make a profit. I dont think the card companies expected this much demand from new collectors and the flippers. Demand and Supply will sync up in the retail space soon enough. The hot items, like basketball and Bowman Mega Boxes may stay tough to get, but most products will become more and more available.

I've been seeing Chrome blasters sell in the $25 range the past few days. After fees, the flippers will realize making $1/blaster after fees isn't worth it. Like Iseecon pointed out, I think better days are ahead.

I agree and disagree but my disagreement makes your first point more valid. Make sense?

I too have not met many flippers in the wild. People are opening their finds. There is very minimal resell value of most retail. Basketball being the outlier but even chronicles and illusions isn’t very expensive on the secondary market. This is why I also believe the hobby is in a very good place.

I disagree on being able to find retail easier in the near future. NASCAR chronicles doesn’t even stay on the shelf longer than a day by me. It definitely won’t get harder because it can’t. If you don’t get there when the rep is there, you are SOL. I just don’t see this changing. My targets are trying to enforce limits but it’s not making one lick of difference. But again, I’m not complaining. I have a great time buying singles and ripping retail whenever the opportunity presents itself.

Interesting shipment today. Only 1 box and it was full of Donruss FB. But more importantly for the first time I've seen, it actually had a Walmart style displayer box in it. 2 of them actually filled with hangers, blasters and megas.

7 weeks now and I haven't seen a sports card at my Target. It's not even coming to the store anymore. The replaced the sports card wall with more Yu Gi Oh and Pokemon. I think they are out until the market normalizes. Sux because I love to buy 10-20$ worth on my weekly trips.

I definitely wont expect it anymore and will buy singles for now. I hope they skip A&G, that's the set my daughter likes and we enjoy opening it together and building a set, but I refuse to pay flippers for product.

You clearly haven't been reading this thread. I've addressed this situation multiple times.

I was able to find some packs last night at Target! The first time since late June!

There were blasters and single packs of Fire. There were also single packs and value packs of Allen & Ginter. Got a base LouBob in one of the A&G packs.

Definitely scratched my itch!

I don't even bother looking for cards anymore. This is pretty typical for Wichita. Trash.

In a lighthearted note, the sports talk radio channel I listen to had Trent Dilfer on for a segment and he is sponsored by Panini... part of the intro said "check out Donruss Football...available EVERYWHERE!"

This gave me hope so I stopped at Target today. Entire card section bone dry as always for the 100th time.

Vendor just stocked about 90 minutes ago Target in San Diego.

Saw some Allan and Ginter and Fire blasters, and Some AG Value packs and Optic value packs. Just left it there.
Donruss FB gravity feed all bought out and that was pretty much left.

Gaming looked fully stocked, but the pokemon 4.19 for 2 packs were all gone.

At least I was able to see something on the shelf, Finding stuff was getting really bad, I almost reached for the soccer Attax cards in one store, then just bought the 500 penny sleeves for 6.99 which is a good deal.

Archives, Ginter, and Stadium Club..no sign of football and no "massive reloads" of Chronicles like others seem to find
