We can all go find an example here and there to support the narrative we want to believe (I agree to that - I have a friend who is a nurse and she was in the ER when 2 car crash victims came in - they were horrifically injured and died. Both tested positive for Covid and listed as a covid death - I find this wrong (as does most every one here) but this does not mean every single case is like this!)


What I am saying is we - individually - have to use common sense.

Can we definitively say that individual would STILL be alive without the Covid diagnosis?
The car crash above - I will say NO (I am not a Dr)
A stroke, my friend with no pre-existing conditions died due to a stroke and had covid. He was 25 and played sports.

His cause of death was listed as Covid


I gave 2 separate examples here - but to discount one and accept the other is rather short sighted at this moment.

I never discounted any of these examples, you never mentioned the friend until now. I made a general statement that I don't think its right for a medical doctor to say someone had a stroke, but we have to look at it, it may have been from Covid. In your friends case in very well could've been covid, but not in every case. I am not making blanket statements for every case, but to say someone is wrong for saying that there is wrong classifications going (which is what you originally did) is just as wrong as you are trying to say I am.

Because many are sitting near empty. When they stopped doing elective surgeries and tried to keep beds open for Covid they started losing money and cutting staff. My sister worked at a pretty large hospital. First she was transferred from elective surgeries to the ER and then when they were starting to make cuts there she found other employment. Her hospital was not some weird outlier either. If the hospitals are full of Covid patients why are they facing a short fall in money?

What facts? Seriously, most if the comments that are brought to the table are consistently debunked. The 2016 thread and early on in this 2020 thread, I have made attempts to write thoughtful and well researched posts. It’s not worth it anymore.

I have read things in this thread like “dirty Muslim”, homophobia, not caring about people, QAnon conspiracy theories, and, in general, ridiculous arguments that are from another world of thought that is not on planet Earth.

You bring up another head-scratcher for me (and I am sure MANY other folks) - these "elective" surgeries..... what percent of these are not needed and a total waste???

You decided it's not worth it, I have asked personally many times for telling me what Joe Biden is going to do for me, and mostly what I get is not Trump. I have never said any of those things you speak of here. Others have made well thought out researched posts that don't fit your beliefs and you spend your time just running them down how is that even going to fix anything? Or make any of us better?

"Elective" is a very misleading term. It just means surgeries that are planned and not immediately life threatening. For example, when I tore my meniscus I couldn't put any weight on that leg but my knee scope to fix it was an elective surgery.

Especially when it looks like there wouldn't be questions just each candidates vision of the country going forward. Moderator would just be there to make sure that each candidate gets their time and not getting interrupted etc.

Why hang around then? I have the same dilemma... but once I feel this thread is completely worthless, I won't be sticking around to cheerlead. I still hold out hope that the rest of the posters in here will realize that I am always right and that my posts are gospel.

A couple quick points....
My wife works in the lab at one of the largest hospitals in Des Moines and has never been tested for covid.
If one side of the debate can be continually be accused of getting their info from Rush Limbaugh and Q is it fair if that side of the debate accuses the other of getting their info from Daily Kos or the ladies from The View?
