I just want a vaccine because that should start the process of reopening. If not, then I think a lot more people need to be demanding it. If you are able to at least provide a vaccine, whether people take it or not, then there's no other reason to be shut down.

The first wave will be high risk and high exposure populations. To give you a better idea, they haven’t even begun the process of approval to start trials for a vaccine for children.

I don’t think people understand or are being realistic about if, how and when a vaccine will be available and administered.

Oh I know I wouldn't be eligible for the first batch, but I was just making a point about why I don't think Kamala's statement was anything short of what most American's are thinking right now. My parents who likely would be eligible for the first batch of vaccines have also said they wouldn't take the first one for the exact same reasons.

If people had taken the mask wearing seriously from the start, we'd be lightyears ahead of where we are right now in regards to re-openings.

At this point, we are where we are at due to people not taking it seriously, we're so far behind almost every country in the world it's not even funny.

So far behind of who? Masks don't do much. More people are wearing masks now than they were in April and look at the cases. It's a virus, it's going to spread. A mask wasn't going to stop it. The problem is we have 50 "countries" in America, but it's all counted as one country. Did NY and NJ blow it? Yes. Take away those two states and it's a pretty different picture.

Edit: Plus, the data shows we should be much more open in many more areas, than we are. Find one hospital that is overran?

Logically, wearing a mask will help. Factually, there's no evidence that says we would have been able to open up sooner because everyone wore a mask. It's a virus, it's out there in the open. Particles are just floating around. So, when you're at home, wearing your clothes and then you go to the store, COVID is on your shirt. You then open the cooler door to grab some milk, your shirt, brushing onto the handle. Now, the handle has COVID. You then shut the door, now your hand has COVID and off the virus goes.

Logically, a mask helps. Factually, it doesn't. It's month 6, the data is there. If you're at risk, keep staying home. If you're not, don't be so paranoid. College kids should all be in school. There's this thing called personal responsibility. If a professor doesn't feel comfortable going to school, then make their class an online only class. If a professor feels comfortable, then have class as normal. It isn't hard people.

I'm over hearing, "BuT GrAnDma?!?!" Don't see your grandma until you feel comfortable.
