Default COMC: Identifying cards not purchased in simplified shipping mode

COMC no longer offers phone or email support (2 weeks of emails have gone unanswered) so I'm hoping a more experienced user can help me. I wanted to get my COMC cards shipped to me but, instead of the usual $4.99 flat shipping, I'm getting a range of price options from $14.94 to $894.94. It says I do not qualify for Flat Rate shipping because "One or more of the items in your shipment were not purchased on COMC.com from Simplified Shipping Mode and still has a per-item shipping fee due." Is there a way to use the Inventory Manager to identifiy which cards were not purchased in Simplified Shipping Mode so that I can omit them from my shipment and pay the usual $4.95? Thanks for any help you can provide.

1) Did you transfer any cards over from Upper Deck ePack?
2) Did you switch your setting to Advanced Resellers Mode?

The per item shipping fee is 25 cents that will be added to any card that you didn't pay the 25 cents up front.

Go into you inventory manager. Under show items: click Flagged to ship. On the right hand side, it will show you which ones will cost you 25 cents shipping and handling.

The shipping times have been delayed the last several months.

1. No
2. I don't even know what that is, so I doubt it.

I did what you said. I have about 1700 cards to ship so it was too hard to scroll through them all. I used the Control+F find command in my browser to search for the text 0.25 and nothing came up.

No graded cards; I'm not sure if any are oversized since all of COMC's scans appear as a standard size.

That must not have been the issue. I clicked remove all top loaders, but the shipping prices remained the same. I find it outrageous that, after spending thousands of dollars on that site, they refuse to answer support emails.

"Remove all toploaders" is only to clear the boxes where you select to add toploaders. It does not modify any cards that were scanned in toploaders.

Unfortunately, No there is not a way to bulk identify and remove from shipment. The remove from shipment process needs to be done individually.

On 1st page after Shipment Request scroll down. On the right you should see a column S&H. Any items that have a fee, you will need to hit the remove button.

I am not positive but, believe this may be the only way for them to be removed from shipment.

it is not that difficult or time consuming

go to this page and you will see this

Asking Price + S&H = List Price

that + $0.25 or + $0.45 are the ones with handling charges. select the view 500 option and it took me less than a minute to scroll 500

That was extremely helpful glen87. Of the 1712 cards in my shipment, 12 had shipping fees, one was $1 and the other 11 were $0.45. I removed them from my shipment and now the lowest shipping price is down to $8.99. Any idea what is causing the extra $4 to a shipping price which is usually $4.99?
Thanks for your help!

Shockingly, COMC replied to one of my emails and explained the reason that the shipping is $8.99 is that "all orders with an inherent value of $400.00 or more require signature confirmation for the parcel. This upgrade is done automatically if the threshold is met, and cannot be removed. The cost of signature confirmation is $4.00 for US."

Glad you found your answer...interesting that I can get signature confirmation for $2.60 and COMC has to pay $4.00.

I just transferred a bunch of cards from epack to comc because of the free shipping offer this weekend. It's looking like I still have to pay a 25c fee on all the commons, etc regardless? Kind of mad that I did the transfer if I have to pay a ton to ship. I don't understand their offer apparently.

It would cost the exact same if you had to ship from ePack. ePack is run by COMC. There is always an embedded shipping cost of a quarter per raw card, unless it's graded, oversized, toploaded, or Elite.
The free shipping is only for the $4.99 base shipping cost or whatever they charge to people who aren't in Advanced Resellers Mode. That's why there are so many 2 cent cards on COMC (which show up as 27 cents if you're not in ARM): only worth liquidating so you don't have to mail them to yourself.

The promo makes it look like there isn't a shipping cost at all. I didn't know there is "always" an embedded cost even if they say free shipping. I looked in their "Per Item Fees" in their shipping rates page and it says (I bolded the end):

Per-Item Fees
Most raw cards are subject to a per-item fee of $0.25. Some jumbo cards or cards in holders may be subject to a $1 per-item shipping fee.

They call it a shipping fee so I assumed that was included in the free shipping offer.

I understand it would have cost the same to send from UD but I wouldn't have transferred them at all if I knew it would have been that much. Iwould have rather had some of those cards just sitting on my epack instead of paying $500 to ship some crappy complete sets that I thought I could get in hand cheap. Now they're on COMC and not my epack, so I can't trade them if I wanted to.

Send them an email and see if they'll work with you on it, but next time, ask questions or do a trial of 10 cards before you make such a wholesale change without all the facts. There are plenty on blowout that are COMC experts and can guide you.

Again clearly another reason to not deal with or be on COMC.

Can someone explain the free shipping offer this week, what it means? I just requested a shipment of base, not in advanced reseller mode, and the economy shipping was whatever the usual amount was $4.99 to 6.99 or whatever.

Free Shipping Offer + $5 Off Shipping Later

Shipments of 20+ items placed between Thursday, November 24th, and Monday, November 28th will be eligible for FREE shipping!

Have you been waiting to make a shipment request? In addition to the above free-shipping offer, if you ship 100 or more items during our Black Friday/Cyber Monday promotion, you will also receive an additional $5-off shipping voucher, to be applied to your account on January 1, 2023, which can be used until March 31, 2023. Please note the following:

100 or more items must be included in the same shipment to be eligible for the $5-off shipping voucher
Purchased items count toward the 20- and 100-item shipment thresholds
Transferred ePack items count toward the above thresholds
Items you consigned with us do not count towards the above thresholds
Limit one $5 voucher per account
Did you have over 20 items in the shipment? Did it go over some dollar threshhold where they had to upgrade the package to signature required?

Basically, whatever the cheapest shipping option is, for people that aren't in Advanced Resellers Mode, and haven't transferred cards from ePack, is waived. They normally refer to the .25/.45/1.00 embedded fees as "handling" fees since that's the money they pay the employee to go into the warehouse and locate your cards. If you transferred the card from ePack, you never bought it on site, so you never paid the handling fee.

D'oh! I requested the shipment on 11/23, a day before the offer started. Lesson to pay closer attention, for some reason I thought it was the whole week. It was over 100 cards and the economy shipping, so would have been free + the $5 voucher it looks like. Ah well. Thanks for clearing that up.
