They were most likely cheating last year as well. Don't forget Mr I need to change my uni after hitting a walk off to win the ALCS. We don't need to rehash all that though. What is the comp for a perennial dh on a team everyone hates? I see Ortiz mentioned who also cheated, but he was a Red Sox hero on the team that broke the curse and there is nothing the Astros could ever do that would be considered as monumental.

Ortiz mentioning cheaters is laughable

thats impressive. even the most hard core haters don't even think they were cheating last year. You must have lost some serious money when they won in 17.

Also, anytime you say something like "he was a cheater but." you lose your moral high ground. Means you only have an issue with cheating when you decide.

I'm about to list my TC Orange 1985. It's not the player -- I don't trust the set to hold value, and this isn't a card I planned on holding forever.

Basically, any ancillary cards are probably still fair to sell for the 1-2 weeks before a legit dip starts happening. I'd definitely still hold mainline cards.

Mantle did ok with busted knees. The technology they gave today is amazing for injuries. He should be fine after rehab.

Perhaps I wasn't clear. I view Ortiz as a cheater, but in the mediaverse he's viewed as a hero and every Yankees fan thinks the Stros were cheating last year.

It’s on-card but I do see how the design makes it look like a sticker.

Like they did in 20115 and 2016? Oh ok. Guess that wasn’t a big deal. Only matters if you win a championship. Maybe Chapman shouldn’t groove one.

Yeah, that was basically my hunch: it’s probably on-card, but the design makes it appear that it might be a sticker.

Thanks for clarifying.

Thats a crazy price for that Bowman Sterling Yordan. Even with the injury, $45 for a guy who has proven he can hit ML-pitching.

Might need to start buying in if the prices continue to drop.

If his prices drop more I will gotta look at picking him up. He can hit.

Miguel Cabrera couldn't do anything but hit really and he did just fine. I really think they will look at putting Alvarez at first once Gurriel is done.

He crushed minor league pitching, and did it in the majors. To call him a cheater is laughable IMO.

It's the worst type of characters that do that type of bidding. eBay really needs to fix this so that sellers are not taken advantage of. It's unethical and borderline criminal what these bidders are doing.

Was it last-second bid retraction?

Edit: Never mind. Answered.

If there isn’t already, there needs to be a way to report this particular activity.

I have to imagine it doesn’t work too often, since the seller can just cancel after the fact. But still, it needs to be rooted out.
