I know you're a big Pujols fan, but this is crazy..

47 years ago, Willie Mays hit HR 660

Today would be perfect for Pujols to hit 660

Pujols is batting 5th tonight vs the Giants

I think Pujols is out today but he should tie and maybe break Mays record this week and get past ARod for RBI. That's my hope at least! He is getting the average up a little... Angels hitting is big disappointment so far. Rendon is hot now but Trout not. The rest of em, ugh. Need to start hitting as a team if the Angels are to make playoffs... yes, I'm saying they've got a chance.

Nah.. Been too long. Ten years is a long time.. he's becoming more of an STL myth than legend.

Yeah not a single person I know around here thinks anything close to that. He's an absolute Cardinals legend. It's only grown as its been longer since he left.

Albert got past ARod in RBI, now second all-time behind Aaron. He's in lineup for first game of doubleheader today. Hope he ties and breaks Mays today for HR. Sitting at 659 for awhile now... I picked up another Pujols countdown to 3,000 game day giveaway figure last week plus a Pujols rookie bobblehead last week. Looking hard at his rookie cards now. I have to get his 2001 Bowman in PSA 9! I guess I could settle for PSA 8, we'll see.

it would be fitting to hit 660 in Houston just because of that monster homerun he hit there while with the Cards

Not a single person I know around here calls him a legend or would say his legend has grown.

Everyone has their own groups and opinions, doesn't make either of our experiences true for the whole area.

He had the best 10 years here anyone can ask for, then he moved on. No ill will towards Albert, but Yadi is much more of a legend now.

I’m assuming you are not being sarcastic. I can’t believe how much we agree on Pujols. Respect!

I’ve always rooted for Pujols even when he destroyed Brad Lidge’s pitch at MMP in 2004( still so t think it landed). I just wish he wasn’t such a gruff guy at the parks. I’ve tried for years to get him to sign and others I know have as well and he just ignores for the most part. Even St. Louis fans that travel or live in the home team city. If he had more of a fan friendly approach I think he’d be more appreciated. He is a super nice person and good guy though. Happy for his milestones

He doesn't sign much in Anaheim. He's signed very rarely if you show up early to the game and catch him driving in. Even if you catch him driving in, 99% chance he ain't signing for you.

Best shot is to buy from Topps or his foundation.

His foundation sells his autos for like $300. They just had a $660 deal for 2 Pujols autos on a printed picture of his foundation and a signed mini wood bat.

Yeah I knew he signed through his foundation which is a great group. He just doesn’t seem to engage with fans much either. I remember when I would watch him in Houston Cardinals fans were begging him just to wave or turn and smile, but he looked pissed at the world. It’s his game face I get it. But my goodness it comes across very prickish, even though I know he’s not.

Nothing has changed in Anaheim.

Seems like unless you get invited to the field via his charity, he aint looking at you.

That stinks. I’m sure after his career is over he will pull a Reggie Jackson and stop being an on-field curmudgeon

I was at the 2009 All Star Game in STL. Before the game started while everyone was stretching, Pujols saw a group of soldiers from Fort Leonard Wood standing at the outfield fence. They were going to hold the flag during the anthem. He went over to them and signed baseballs, jerseys, or whatever they had at the time. He signed for all of them. I realize he was the face of that all star game being in STL and all, but was still a classy thing to do. As you can obviously tell from my user name...he's my favorite player of all time.
