It might be a little soon to call him a bust. There are others: Casey Mize, Nate Pearson, Cristian Pache, Dylan Carlson, Luis Patino, Alec Bohm, Spencer Howard, Nick Madrigal, Tarik Skubal, Brady Singer, Daniel Lynch, Keibert Ruiz, Daulton Varsho, Andres Gimenez, & more to come. There is too much potential there for "investors" to not take a second mortgage to pay for 20 cases.

Was hoping that they would use the 1981 design for the Throwbacks instead of the 1986 design.....oh well....not much that interests me design-wise.....

Is this going to be the most loaded set ever or will topps spread our the rookies cause it could almost look like a bowman product with the number of guys getting called up.

It's going to be super loaded, hopefully it doesn't get cursed like 2020 Series 1 with Yordan, Lux, and Bichette all struggling or injured.

It will be loaded, but they will also spread some out I think. Should be plenty of rookie to go around. Print run will probably double and price will certainly double. So could be a reverse factor of 4. Potentially makes the value about the same factoring in content vs production vs price, depending on how they do it.

Assuming that Wander does not debut this year or early enough next year to be in 2021 Series 2, there will need to be someone that is held back for Series 2. Maybe Joey Bart gets held back? Maybe also Nate Pearson since Topps knows that Series 1 is going to sell no matter what.
While there are a lot of good players that have or will debut this year, are any of them strong enough to carry a product like Robert in 2020 Series 2, Yordan/Lux/Bichette in Series 1, Vlad/Hiura in 2019 Update, Big 3 in 2019 Series 2, etc? My thoughts are that the quantity of RCs in series 1 will carry it, but they have to hold someone(s) big back for Series 2. No idea who that would be though. Or, they just hope that Wander makes his debut middle of next year and they can SP him in Series 2. That would be enough to sell it.

If you have to explain why it's a 1/1, then it's NOT a 1/1. Looking for Andre Dawson Serial numbered cards that are his jersey number - either #8 or #10. So looking for cards like 8/8 or 08/99 or 10/250. |

I saw someone on fangraphs point out that for the rays to max out control with Wander they wouldn't call him up until early 2022. Who knows what they will do and if they will give up a year of control to say win a ws. So far we have who?
Adell, Madrigal, Pearson, Mize, Bart, Pache, Spencer Howard, Carlson, Sixto Sanchez, Skubal, Bohm, and I'm probably missing a bunch. It might be a case of quantity over quality next year, but who knows. |

Don’t worry, you’ll be able to grab em for $150/$310 soon.
