Looks like Gary Sanchez with all the hard hit ground balls to the pull side.

You literally cherry-picked the lowest possible point in his season to make what point?

So, I'm going to disagree with your characterization that this was "cherry-picking." When examining a data point that represents six or so weeks of cumulative statistics, it's representative of those six or so weeks. (Specifically, the first six weeks of Soto's second season in the Major Leagues.)

And so... It's showing that arguably the best hitter in the game was struggling pretty badly further into his second season than Vlad is into HIS second season. Big picture, it indicates that young hitters might go through some struggles on their way to greatness. More specifically, it suggests that those who are giving up on Vlad and/or characterizing him as a flop, the next Delmon Young, an unmotivated silver spooner, etc... are prematurely rendering a verdict on a player barely 20 games into his age-21 season.

Hitting aside, the verdict is already rendered that his defense is so bad he's going to be permanently stuck at 1B/DH(DH more often than not) which caps his upside at much lower than what people think his true potential is(MVP contention, which is near impossible)

People dunking on his performance aren't saying he's a complete bust. No one doubts he can improve and that his hitting will likely improve. It's just much, much more likely he turns into a regular above average player than one of the top 15 guys in the game

And everyone is really underestimating how horrendous he's been since he debuted. He ranks 167th in WAR out of 179 among players with at least 500 ABs from 2019-2020. Just behind Colin Moran and just ahead of Joe Panik lol

I'd consider myself "heavily invested" in him, but I'm even more so "heavily invested" in Arenado, Trout, Soto, and Acuna. So, don't feel bad for me.

It's called diversification. You win some, you lose some.

It's still way to early to consider this a loss though. I bought in pretty early.

It's pretty rare to happen, and I believe the batter is supposed to be out when it does occur. My guess is that it is very difficult for the umps to know if it was hit twice.

Yea it's obvious you don't know any Dodger fans, nobody is happy about his new stance and struggles....and sorry but Bellinger wasn't pumped like an over sized Barry Bonds when he was a prospect. He struggles every year and already won MVP.
Try making an example of a comparable player thanks.

These player threads do nothing but bring out the jealous and/or narcissistic.

I did like that hit when the ball came off the bat TWICE. He's only 21, 2 months older than Tatis Jr and 5 months older than Soto. he'll be fine.

That’s the good thing. I had to stop because I was priced out. People losing confidence is allowing me to grab cards cheaper, especially while everyone is focused on Tatis.
