I'm from Bakersfield. We have our pros and cons. As do all cities. Although we have more cons than pros I learn as I grow older. I want to move to Pismo....as does everyone from Bakersfield.

I used to live in California, went to high school and college there. Of course California has better climate and amenities. But it is now an unaffordable dysfunctional place to live -people don’t live in Texas for the weather or scenery they live here because it’s affordable and good jobs are everywhere.

Austin is no oasis it’s California East - high taxes unaffordable housing gridlocked etc...

And despite all this The San Joaquin valley is still the armpit of California and always will be.
