It’s one thing to be against cancel culture where it’s 20 year old tweets that were less offensive at that time from when someone was 18. This guy used a slur when he thought no one was listening in 2020 at age 56. He clearly has some abhorrent boomer feelings towards gay people that have no place in modern society. He should and will be fired.

Let me put it this way... not everybody in the world “agrees” with the things society deems we must respect. That’s just the facts, we’re entitled to our opinions. We don’t have to agree with everything. On the flip side, just because you don’t like something doesn’t mean you’re going to air it out in public. In this circumstance I believe it was an accident and he more likely than not wouldn’t be saying this statement knowingly in public. Either way, his job is most likely gone.

FYI you’re sarcastic “judge mental” comment is ironically followed up with an assumption. Sounds like you’re judging the rap community. Hypocrite much?

He was on the job and shouldn't bring that verbiage to work, PERIOD. Doesn't matter if he was in a commercial break or not.

i saw a kid one time slapping the butt of a girl who was his friend...AT WORK. Supervisor saw it and reported him. Despite the fact that they were friends and were messing around it didn't matter, he lost his job.

When you're at work you're at work.

I always find it funny when somebody apologizes and they say “that’s not me” or “that’s not who I am”... that’s exactly who you are because you said the freaking words!

Could "Blazing Saddles" get made today? NO WAY! And I think that's sad.

Lots of movies can't get made today because they would trigger the snowflakes.

Tropic Thunder, I Now Pronounce you Chuck and Larry, and Ace Ventura are other ones. All wouldn't dare be made made today, or at the very least, their screenplays would be drastically edited

You don't accidentally drop words like that. The people in this thread in any way making excuses for it need to grow up.

Saying stuff like "we all have things we say privately" is admitting quite a lot.

He should be suspended for the rest of the season. Nothing more, nothing less. He shouldn’t have said what he said, but shouldn’t lose his job over it.

Dude's like 56. Not Tutankhamun.

That word isn't the byproduct of early onset dimentia, so he better dig deep down the well of excuses.

Another vote for, "he was just telling somebody about a funny scene in Blazing Saddles." It was an honest mistake. I'll give him a pass.
