Bruuuuutal matchups in the Elite Eight due to the non-seeding chaos

JK5 on JK5 crime

High seeds (as I judged them) slugging it out before they should have, to face weaker opponents

Easy pickins - vote!

As for the white stuff...I tried it once. Did about four spoons in the French Quarter on Halloween with some rando and got nothing so I decided I wouldn't go further down that road.

Found MDMA to be a much more exciting time! Take Siff/Ermsy/Shore and mush em together and there you go.

Hard to believe that was 20 years ago!

Thiele makes busy cards but they can be appealing in their own way. This Ripken gives me a Picasso-esque Cubism vibe. I prefer his Henderson the most, but this is one of his better efforts, in my opinion.

Strongly agree here. It's hard to look at these 4 cards.

Thiele is like George Lucas, he's got great creativity, but he needs someone to tell him no at times.

It just bores me to death, trying to be honest here guys. If it was a great box or a bad box, either way. It's a supplement to 1/400th of what we actually want to talk about!

Here are my hot takes:

Ziggy got banned somehow. I saw he snuck a curse word by, that might have been it. RIP bro.

Today's 2 cards -
Thiele Ripken is...... weird, and not in a good way. His face looks nothing like's Cal's, but I guess we should have seen that coming (Ted Williams Wedding Cake face, anyone?) The art is above average, the face is bad.

Siff Henderson is...... also weird, also not in a good way. His stuff is always weird. I've been his biggest critic and his biggest fan on here. He is definitely the three true outcome P2020 artist. I didn't think he could make a card that I would like less than his Nolan Ryan, but here we are. 3 pitch strikeout, all called strikes. Do not like.

Having said that, I am buying both. I learned my lesson with the Siff Ryan - hated it at first, continued to hate it, bought it, still hated it, can't stop looking at it. I'm going to give this Henderson the benefit of the doubt that maybe there's something there I will pick up on when it's in hand.

P2020 goes on - every day is a 2pac.
I really like and agree with Siff as a three true outcomes kind of artist. It's always an adventure with him whereas others' cards can seem more predictable. The Nolan Ryan is awful to me; it's one of my least favorite cards in the entire set. It might be because it reminds me of something I might have drawn as a kid (and I do not claim to be an artist). Some of his others--I'm partial to the Frank Thomas--are delightful.

I couldn't even remember he did a Henderson, and I went back and it was only a couple of weeks ago. Looking at it now - not a bad card, tons of detail But SO BUSY! So much going on!

There is a poster here named Col. Kurtz who will explain why you are exactly correct on the Siff Ryan.

This is what I like about his final Ripken, that “wonky” Ripken in my simpleton wording.

I also agree overall with Thiele, though some I find visually assaulting, while others I find refreshing. The Henderson kind of gives me motion sickness. Which is an odd thing for a static image to do; so while I don’t care for it aesthetically, I appreciate the off putting effect it has me.

I got my JK5 Rickey Henderson today..My question is,Is Rickey holding a Pencil or a sword in the drawing...I always thought it was a sword,But,after looking closely,it looks like a pencil......If this has already been discussed, then sorry

Thanks. I really just like the cards and have enjoyed being able to dissect them as they've been released during an unusual year, to say the least.

Here are my 5 favorites:
Grotesk Trout
Shore Brett
Efdot Ripken
Fucci Gooden
Siff Thomas

and my 5 least:
Oldmanalan Rivera
Mister Cartoon Robinson
Thiele Williams
Fucci Mattingly
Siff Ryan

One thing that is great about this set is we all have different likes and can celebrate or express disappointment in what the artists offer us. It's a ride we'll never forget.

I got shipping notices on cards 105-116 today. Way to go Topps! But I got cards 101-104 today and the Rochester Mays was in a snap tite. They ordered 1M holders and still had to resort to snap tites??

Kurtz is gone for now. We'll need someone to channel him. He's in Yugoslavia or something.

One of the good ones. Pouring a little jack and ginger out for the man from 8 miles high.

Wondering if it's his version of an FU P2020 purchase.

I'm sure not, but maybe the delta between his expectations of his take from this set and the reality justified the purchase. Doubt it's fun to drive around on the streets anyway. Honestly not jealous, just observing. Carry on. Jk5 v Jk5, who ya got? Henderson for me.

I'll go with Trout. Laser beams! My favorite JK5 is the Jeter, though. He really hit the target with that one.

That's always been his moniker far before p2020.

More like an ode to realized profits.

Except it looks nothing like Williams.

I bought one of Thiele’s top tier Jeter autograph offerings. Included was supposed to be a nicely done, art-covered baseball. What I received was an overly painted ball that even made my wife grimace. It is so bad, I can’t make myself buy another top tier offering.

As often correctly stated here, his previous version was better than the finished product, sadly.

Yeah... I know - I added that little bit at the end of drafting my post. Didn't mean to imply that the plate was a reference to p2020.
