How is this a ‘Black 10’

You would think they'd have a second person check the black labels to make sure everything looks ok. I imagine there aren't that many getting that grade each day so it should be too onerous. It would help avoid something like this.

Whoever ended it did the right thing. Eventually that card will eventually hurt the owner seeing that their BGS Black Label does not match other Black Labels. Sometimes crack do happen, but I will not send a card like that even though I saw this.

I wasn't joking about the letter. Expect it to be back up for sale from PWCC in a month or two.

That BGS 9.5 that got a 9 centering is degrading. That is at least a 9.5 on centering.

If Beckett is a moral company, they should buy that card back and re-grade it. That hurts the company than have that float around. More of these inconsistencies showing up, less interest in grading.

This wasn't from a preferential Leaf/Joe grading submission but clearly not a grade/card that anyone wants to hold onto for long.

Here's an IG post (I don't believe was the submitter) from a few days after the card was graded (March 2nd) and it seems to have already moved once, before the post and then again on eBay a few days later.

Commentators were discussing the centering issues (kind of hard to miss) back then as well.

tbh that pic of the IG post while top i suppose looks good, the L to R is slightly off however could just be camera angle... and I thought I would originally say that about first pic but then realized that was a scan so in theory shouldnt be an angle trick and thus I agree with the alarm unless missing something otehrwise.

That's the only thing about regular pictures. Natural lens distortion doesn't always capture linear objects well since they tend to bend or warp.


Could be off L/R, but it also could be a lot closer than the picture shows.

This is an angle shot, not shot directly on top which makes it look better than the PWCC shot, or PSA shot. He took this angle shot to avoid glare.

Beckett reached out and shared that they wanted to review the card to make sure it was graded correctly. We always want to support the grading companies desires to uphold their standards and not sell assets that don’t align to the standards of the grading company.
