So I thought I'd share my experience from this morning.

The one Walmart I have a bead on usually stocks on Friday, but I figured I'd check today since it's such a big release.

I get there around 10am and the MJ Holding gal is still stocking stuff. I got there too late though, someone beat me and took all the Chronicles.

But, apparently, according to her, "Someone hasn't been doing their job right and wasn't putting out stuff." So I take a look, and lo and behold were 9 Optic Megas. I'm like, "Yeah, ill take those." She's like, "All of them?!" I go, "Yeah!"

And she also had Topps Chrome, so I went ahead and took those too (left about 15 cellos).

One funny thing.....as I'm leaving the aisle with all the boxes in my basket, a bro with a tank-top and Ipod airpods (whatever they're called, the wireless white plugs in the ear) is walking into the aisle, spots my haul, and mutters something like "Ah #@#@#@#@...." Looks like homedude is getting soccer chronicles scraps

This was Houston, TX northside.

Grats to anyone that got any. It's ridiculous now.

Cool cards. However I kinda found the break a touch boring. Not sure why. Maybe the repetitiveness of the players. I’m sure I’m in the minority. Prob would have helped had I got in at retail Msrp but those days Are gone

A staggered release means product trickling out slowly not stores in entire states getting bypassed. That's a strange strategy. Targets and WM in California, which didn't get any Mosaic until late May, never shut down. And all shipping services probably ran better then than they do now.

Walmart near me finally had some but it was manned by an employee allowing only 1 per customer. Apparently they got some Wednesday and a guy took 2 full shelf cartons and scanned just 1 box and left with them all.
As if they aren't already valuable enough, you still have to steal them? Wow

Full restock at my Walmart this morning.... of Pokemon, Yu Gi Oh and Magic. Seriously, every last shelf was filled to the brim with this stuff. A veritable Mecca if you are looking for some.

I guess I can stop checking for cards there now at least.

That was my experience with 18-19 and have no hopes of getting 19-20 by this point, but I have gotten my share of some hot products earlier this year.

My scraps from yesterday! It was a mad scramble out there. I tried a couple/few places and some friends were out at others and we all had no luck lol Weird times we're in. Thankfully the Meijer lady stopped the guy from taking everything and made him leave behind one of each item for her picture she has to send and I ended up getting those.

Fun product, but I like mixed products like this.

Yeah, I saw about 10 empty retail trays on the shelf in 3 Walmarts. I'm going out on a limb and saying they probably never hit the shelf. Someone here is definitely waiting or getting the tip-off. Absolutely nothing on the shelf except 2020 Donruss baseball. I'm about done trying.

My main Walmart where I've had my best luck put out stock today. The stocker there usually puts it out around 8:30ish, so I got there at 8 just to be sure and as I walk up, I see that beautiful MJ logo with no one else in sight but me and the stocker.

I go up to him and he remembered me so I ask if he got basketball and sadly, he said they were all gone. I feel like he genuinely felt bad I didn't get any since I actually struck a good convo with him last time when I'm sure all the hounds are just rude and obnoxious, but whatever, that's the game I guess.

He said this is the normal stock time for him so I was right on that but he mentioned that was basically "forced" to put the stock out when he got in at 7AM because there was a line of people waiting already.

There is a little hope for me in secondary market though, which I had to do for a good chunk of Mosaic I got. This was BY FAR the biggest reload I've seen, at least in my area. He told me he pulled out "about 5-6" full displays of it. The average I've ever seen at any of my locations is 2....with occasionally one getting 3, so hopefully the secondhand market takes a dive like Mosaic.

Either way, I can't compete with people lining up at 6AM of that's how it's going to be now so it's off the the secondary market for me.
